Wow! Pastey, that's a nice piece a work... must ataken some coding.. will take a good look at it now...

That's why I've not been around much for the last week.
But I do need feed back on any bugs that may be in there and the layout of the page it produces.

Okay then, will give it a thorough test tommorow. Can't get my head round reading it tonight. (sorry). Am i right in thinking that writing stuff in the boxes doesn't actually change the content of the site (ie, if i click the buttons, will i overwrite stuff on the site?) just checking, coz i wouldn't want to do that...

Clicking buttons won't touch the site at all.
What this does is lets whoever is editing the front page see how it will look before the commit to it. It offers a preview on the right hand side. Then when the look is right, they click the Write Code button and it gives them the code that they need to get that layout. They then log into h2g2 as POSTresearcher, go to edit page and then paste the code that they copied from the right, into the space between the body tags in the edit page section. They then click the update introduction button on h2g2 and they get the fron page of the Post looking just like it did in the preview. That's the theory any way.

Let's hope it works...
It's definately a good idea, and (seems) pretty idiot proof.... i wonder how long it will be before some genius works out how to mess things up (oh yes, it WILL come <EG&gt

Oh and BTW I unsubmitted the Confusing Unknown entry the other day and I just got an email saying that it would have been accepted if I hadn't, and I have only one this to say to myself now.

That'll teach ya to go and unsubmit stuff..... there's no reason to... unless you really don't want someone to read it. You better get it submitted again quick...

Anyway, as for the code... i'm no javascript expert, and i'll have to give it a good looking over. Or maybe pastey can help.... but at a glance, i can see one problem, that has been known to cause a LOT of problems....
You see at the bottom of the code? those two tags.... well, if you change them to then they MIGHT just do something of an improvement... no promises though.... and back up the original code before you do anything.

Oh yeah, BTW, i emailed vegiman and he's said that you'd be a good addition to the team, and that you were already in his mind as a potential joiner. He said the only reason he hadn't asked you as yet was that Jinx was already on the team, and things between you guys get a bit heated.... If you can overcome your differences, then you'd be welcome. So sayeth the Veg. Anyway, if your serious about it, best to have a word with vegiman himself.

Me and Jinx are best friends though Just that when you're twelve you always have arguments with your friends. And ZB of course. We're all friends again. Wow, this is a day for the record books.

I'll see if I can do anything about the script now then.. maybe it doesn't like having so many... maybe I should split it up.. hmm..

Have you sorted out that code yet?

I can't see anything majorly wrong with it, except that there is a much easier way of doing it. Let me know if you want the easy way and I'll post it for you.

Just add in as many tags as you want, make sure the U????? gets changed to the right number and it should work fine.

I forgot to mention, the reason that it is coming up as a strange link is because of h2g2, but don't worry as once it's in a page it will work.

MM, have you had a chance to play around with that page maker? They'll be some more coding, probably better presented and explained, going up over the next day or two. I'll have to also post what the intended layout is as well, and bat through it with you.

Rather than the size="H2" you can just use size="+2" the problem was that you were missing the " marks.
