Subbing the Bowie Knife
Gnomon - time to move on Started conversation Nov 26, 2007
I'm subbing the Bowie Knife, and it is more or less ready at A29321372. I just need to add a few links and do a few final checks.
The bit about George Wostenholm didn't make proper sense. I see you quoted it directly from the linked website and it didn't make any sense there either. So I've reworded it slightly. Can you check that you are happy with that paragraph?

Hey - thanks for subbing this
Yes, I wasn't entirely happy with the quote either - it sounded a little more like a resume. It's improved lots now. The 'instrumental in' bit still leaves it sounding like a resume. I wonder if we leave that out and rearrange the remaining words slightly:
->...is also claimed to have been 'acting on the instructions of legendary American frontiersman Colonel James Bowie' in the development of the very first Bowie Knife. A knife bearing the Wostenholm I*XL trademark is said to have been found on his body when he was killed defending the Alamo in 1836.<-
How's that?

Gnomon,
It's been correctly pointed out to me that an 'Arkansas Toothpick' is a different knife. If you are still able to edit this entry, can you please change
>>but these 'Arkansas Toothpicks' are still made today.<<
to
->but these startling blades are still made today<-
Thanks - and thanks again for subbing this

I'm no longer able to edit this. But I can do so once the Entry is put on the Front Page and marked as Edited. Remind me.
