We went out for a run yesterday to Loch Lomond. Luss to be more exact. The weather was perfect, so we just carried on, after a very good lunch at the Cruachan Hotel, by the Glendarroch gift shop.Good menu, various Scottish dishes,ie, Smoked Venison with red currant jelly DElicious, then Mince and tatties. Huge portion but very very nice and then the home made meringues,-- no words to describe them gorgeous, creamy, deliious, do not do justice. We then went on to Loch Tummel and Kinloch Rannoch and back to Edinburgh via Pitlochry and Perth. All in all a very nice day out.

Next time you have the chance, and a few days to spare, go up to Fort William. Don't believe the myths that it always rain there, (we always see the top of the Ben whenever we go). Remember to take the insect repellant, (the midges have teeth), and and you'll have a great time. The locals are friendly, the shops are brilliant, and the Treasures of the earth exhibition is a must see. You don't even have to be a skier to enjoy the view, (and restaurant), at the top of Aonach Mohr. Drive there if you can..you won't believe the bleakness of Rannoch Moor and I dare you not to stop off at Glencoe.
