What is a 101 forward control?

You mentioned it in a post on the Land Rover trials entry.
I thought I knew most of the off-road vehicles.
The Willys Jeep people used to make a Forward Control set of vehicles, the FC 150 and FC 170, which involved the seats being moved up to either side of the engine and the windscreen being equal with the grill... and the bed being lengthened accordingly. Is that anything similar?

Hi, no, the landrover idea in general was born on the basis of the willis jeep back in 1947/8. The 101 forward control was a landrover version the military wanted specifically and was'nt generally available to the public initially.
This link will take you to a site showing the 101 in all it's glory, there are literally dozens of variants to the 101.

NB...I have no association or dealings with the site or site owners or the company advertised, it just happens to show some good clear pics.
