I'll be appreciative of our desert heat, then. Heavy humidity is the worst.
smiley - sadface
Our "recovery" from the pandemic seems to be on shaky ground. There are spikes in infection in Texas and California. My county specifically has been put on a watch list due to a stubbornly high death rate.

Ours is going down very slowly ut they're worried the Black Lives Matter protests are going to cause another spike

We're having the same fears over here, but we're also being plagued by a sense of forgetfulness on the part of many over here. Many of us are just not realistic about what the damage a second heavy spike will do.

Our shops reopened on monday and we're looking at 4th July for bars and restaurents to reopen. We have made a lot of mistakes in this pandemic, but I doubt anyone will come out of this smelling of roses, except Jacinda Arden maybe

I just hope that New Zealand can stay safe.

I remember seeing a report somewhere that the counties that coped best with coronavirus, Finland, Germany and New Zealand all had one thing in common....a female leader

smiley - biggrin
For some reason I'd guess that's no mere coincidence. There is a lack of calm decisiveness amongst our male leadership at present.

Hard not to, really.

smiley - cheerup
It's hard to know what the foreseeable future has for us all.
I'm of course most doubtful about what will happen here in the U.S.
I hope that our current President is replaced with a competent and wise leader. That's be no means a probability.

Ah, good for you. I hope that you're all going to have continued reason to lighten restrictions and keep up a positive spirit.

I'm good, and I have been in recent communication with my sister. She and the rest of the
family are doing well.

That's good news, I finally got my hair cut yesterday, we have a mobile hairdresser who comes to the house and due to a loophole in the current legislation, single people allowed into other houses, she came and did our hair, my other half is bouncing now, he hated his long hair.

It's looking like Pub's, cinema's, restaurents and museums can open again on 4th July

I smiley - envy him, really. There are barber shops open, but I don't know how well they're able to keep up the safety requirements currently mandated.
smiley - shrug
I'm gonna get a buzz cut when I feel more safe in going out, that is if California doesn't do an emergency shutdown in the next 2-3 weeks
smiley - sigh
Some areas are going smiley - nur here.

I'll be at the polling place for sure.
smiley - cheerssmiley - ok
I'm aware that it's a requirement now more than ever.
Hopefully there will be no emergency reliance on voting by mail, though. That'll give those who want the status quo to remain a major weapon.
By the way, our Governor just closed down bars here in Los Angeles County. I'm surprised he ever allowed them to reopen. We could be on the way back to full lockdown quite soon.

I read that, Our government has shut the city of Leicster down because of a spike in cases.

We can't get rid of Boris for another 5 years, unless he loses a vote of no confidence in parliament, last time that happened he won the election with a majority, but the opposition leader was a worse candidate so he was the lesser of 2 evil's

It's unfortunate that choice of leadership comes down to just that particular comparison too often these days.

How do you think Maggie and Theresa May stayed in power so long?

Hi There

True, probably.

And it would seem that there's not much chance on things changing anytime soon.
