I do need to see a dentist, however. My molars on both sides need to be pulled, and there is much added work that needs doing. I started my personal dental care far too late in life.

Hello,mate.
smiley - smiley

I wonder if you could answer a minor question. It has been a common practice of the Catholic parish across from my house to sponsor a kindof Passion ceremony during Easter weekend.

In the weeks leading to Good Friday,a group of folk drummers beat a droning cadence from the beginning of sunset to sunfall. Were drums used by Romans during executions i.e. during a orisoner being marched to a tree?

I find that the current custom as being somewhat grating.

If you or someone could give me an answer, it could be a bit helpful.

This will help explain mate.

Roman drums and horns were very common at official functions. The fact that drums were commonly used in the Roman world for ceremonial and the tradition could have been adopted. They have one benefit that it takes only a short time to learn.

But drums are a Mexican tradition but that goes on for a week week long and they have a procession every day for a week. That could have very easily found its way into traditional church ritual.
