Love and the Internet.....does it work?

I am a mother 4 of kids 3 girls aged 7,5 and 3 and 1 boy aged 9 months. I am originally from Scotland and now live in Burgess Hill, West Sussex. Has taken me 4 years to get used to the idea of living away from Scotland, but now i have a job here and meeting people i really love it. My answer to this has to be yes....I have an online love who is in the States, and after knowing each other for over 2 years we have decided its time to meet. Others i know on the net have a very good relationship and some have even married..all from meeting on the net. Mine is a different story to theirs...we have fallen in love over the two years we have known each other and haven't seen what the other looks like till recently so its not a love based on looks. We are hoping it works and i believe it will...I consider him my soulmate...i gave him info on h2g2 and he has registered also.
