Hi 26199!

Hi there!
In the time I've been on h2g2, a lot of new people have signed up and joined the volunteer schemes. There was a time when I knew everyone by name, but that's impossible as this grand experiment continues to thrive. So I've decided to pay a visit to each Researcher in the various volunteer schemes and say 'hello'.
Hello!
I didn't even know that you had left the Subeditors' scheme. It's gotten so big, that people I consider colleagues have moved on without my noticing. Don't know quite how I feel about that...

Hello... nice of you to drop by
I've not so much stopped being a sub-editor as, er, wandered off for a while. What with preparing for university next year and desperately trying to get my computing coursework finished (6000 lines of source code thus far ), I decided I could use a little extra time every six weeks... grin...
Still, I plan on hopefully re-volunteering when things settle down a bit... whether that'll be when I'm at uni or after I leave, (or ever), I'm not quite sure yet ... we'll see.

What is it that DNA says about deadlines and loving the wooshing sound they make?

Once again hello 21699,
I dropped past your home page after reading your question in the Nettiquette section - what' wrong with being a number?
Absolutely nothing. My preference is to talk to someone with a name, but if you want to stick with the number I can live with that.
I learned to juggle many moons ago when the RAF station that I was working at had the runway resurfaced. There was nothing to do for days on end.... A couple of us got to the stage where we would do three balls each, then pass them back and forth between the two of us. It took loads of practise, I'm sure I couldn't do it now. Never did any more than three though and certainly not knives! I saw a guy doing three chainsaws on TV once!!

I prefer the number because it's dull, so I have to say interesting things if I want to stand out at all
Juggling's pretty cool, I reckon... if people have no way to escape then it can be quite a good way to start a conversation, grin...
I plan on being able to juggle seven balls at some point... if I practise hard for the next year or so... five is about my limit at the moment, although I can do six a bit (and, indeed, seven a bit).
As for chainsaws... hmmm... I'd love to give it a try

If you're looking for volunteers to be potential limb donors - don't even ask!!!

There was a joke about juggling where I used to work - I'd go down to fix the snag on a computer that wouldn't load, only to find that it worked perfectly when I tried it. (It obviously knew who was boss)
I would then notice a totally seperate computer would be broken.
This was referred to as "Snag Juggling".

Hmmm, doesn't sound any way near as fun as proper juggling.
I've just started to juggle four implements (unlit fire torches, actually), and that's durn good food...

Good luck with that. I'm not that bothered about getting that good, I gave up some years ago.
