Neither a single ACE nor my wandering mother are to be found on-line at the moment. I don't know about you, but my instincts are to run amock .

Neither my mother nor my in-laws have a computer. With me, the main worry is, 'Is there anybody in authority who's liable to be looking over my shoulder?' At the moment the answer is no, 'cos everybody's in a meeting. But they all come out at 13:30 (BST), or thereabouts, so I'll have to get back to work then!

I find that the alabaster skin looks sufficiently like work if you have the monitor brightness turned down a bit....the same can't be said of TIM, however, so I've had to uninstall it .

The main snag with either skin is the big advertising banner at the top of the screen. When I'm checking for new postings on my home space, or posting to a conversation (like now), I scroll the screen so that the banner disappears. This doesn't work when looking at forum postings, though.
I assume TIM is The Incredible Machine. Where did you get it from, or are you still using the demo? I understand that Sierra no longer make it, and that one of the budget software companies has the rights, but I haven't seen it in any of the local shops and it's not available over the web.

I've had two long meetings today myself and was up so late last night that I literally fell asleep over the computer three hours ago. Very pretty patterms on my forehead.

Well, a sleepy adult supervision is nearly as effective as no adult supervision .
Re: TIM - I had the original DOS version about 5 years back and rediscovered it when clearing up last year. I got a demo of the windows version and it took quite a while to finish that one. I'm disappointed Sierra have sold it off - it's a brilliant concept and would make an excellent learning tool as well as a game....

A short while ago I started dozing over a document. (Un)fortunately, I didn't fall asleep completely.!
You can also tell that there's nobody in authority nearby, or I wouldn't be admitting that in print!

My main problem with the demo is that it isn't always obvious where to put the various bits, and there isn't much in the way of help. This is mainly because the real help files aren't included with the demo, and what help there is doesn't help much.
