The form arrived yesterday. I filled it in on the spot, and pointed out that there were service charges associated with most of the transactions, and that I wanted those refunded as well. £18 may not sound like much when you're talking about £100s, but it's my money and I want it back!smiley - crosssmiley - tongueout

The form went off in yesterday's post, so they should get it today. (The bank provided a 1st-class pre-paid envelope, bless 'em.)

Thinking back, some of the problem may be of my own making. I applied for online banking, but didn't complete the process. So the security questions weren't filled in. I now have 5 security questions, which I don't think anybody else knows all the answers to. There are certain standard ones - first school, mum's first name, dad's first name, that kind of thing - plus one that's exclusive to me. So, hopefully, this kind of thing won't happen again.

hi
-
ive never filled a form in for anything thats not what i understand,
-
ive just rang a lady in london, she just told me her oldest daughter had her card cloned a few weeks back, but she had nothing in the account.lol
-
the atm was checked and a devise was found to read the card, and a tiny remote cam, pointing at the keyboard,
-
her daughter was only one of 6, before the devise was found.
-
the chip and pin is a joke, its more trouble than before. grr lol smiley - dragon jim xx

The form had two purposes. There was a declaration to confirm that a criminal act had taken place. There was also a list of transactions and I had to mark each one to confirm it was fraudulent. I'd already told the bank the dates on which the fraudulent transactions had taken place. This was just the fraud department double checking that they had all the transactions listed.

I was told I'd get the money about a week after they get the form back. Now that I've beefed up my security questions, I'll be checking the account on a regular basis to see when the money goes back in.

One more thing. When I re-registered for Online Banking, I checked they had the right phone numbers. The daytime (home) phone number was correct, but I didn't recognise the mobile number. It wasn't mine, nor did it belong to anybody I know. I called the fraud department and reported it. They're going to check who it belongs to, and also check whether it's being used on any other fraudulent accesses. I hope it will help them to catch whoever's behind all this.

Got a letter today saying the investigation was complete and the money would be reimbursed within 7 working days. The letter was dated 2nd July, so that would mean the money would be back by 11th July. I checked, just for the hell of it. The money's already there.smiley - biggrin This weekend I'm going out and spending some of it!

I bought a laptop, a Wii and two books. That'll be all for now. I'm going to buy a Wii-Fit, though - when I can find one. They're extremely popular. Mind you, the 'Sport' game that comes with the Wii has a 'Fitness' facility. You do three sports - tennis, baseball and bowling - and then it gives you a "fitness age". My fitness age is 80!smiley - yikes The boxing game in Wii-Sport is good aerobic exercise, so I'll try to do that three times a week. There are also training games so you can practise the various sports, so I'll try to do those several times a week, too. It all depends on how my hips are.

My body may be older than my years, but my brain's younger. According to Brain Training on the DS, my Brain Age is in the 20s.smiley - geek

Some time soon I'm going to visit my bank and ask for advice on a regular saver account. My current account doesn't pay interest, because of the kind of account it is. (I don't have much going in each month, so I can only have a very basic account.) I can afford to put a little by each month, so I'm going to try to find the highest interest savings account and set things up to pay a regular amount. That way I'll get a bit of interest on my money instead of none.

I deliberately didn't give my age, just as I don't give my real name. I'm over 30, though I'm not saying by how much.smiley - tongueout

I have a mobile, but that's pretty much for emergencies only. I'm the family member who knows most about high-tech appliances, yet I could never figure out how to send a text. My previous phone had 'predictive texting' that was virtually impossible to turn off, so I didn't bother sending texts.

I've had a PC for years, but I only bought one when I started an OU degree. Before then I neither needed one nor wanted one. The laptop is because there are certain things I need to do that are easier with a portable computer. The Wii is because I don't get enough exercise for health reasons. I'm hoping it will help me to exercise on days when the weather's bad, like it has been today. I'm also hoping it will help with things like hand-to-eye coordination. The Wii-Fit has aerobic exercises, but also exercises to help with balance. My sense of balance has never been very good, and it's something that can be affected by MS. I'm hoping the exercises will help with that.
