i have decided to talk to you because you MUST be a good person if you like SG and Lego. i only have to decided if youre acceptable. you dont happen to be a cat person, do you?
good day
The Bad Kind of Puppy Posted Jun 8, 2003
Hello. It's always nice to know there's someone out there judging me... Yes, I'm a cat person, although I have to say I prefer hamsters ever so slightly. Sorry if that disappoints you. Does that mean you like SG-1 and Lego too? It is very rare to find someone who likes either, let alone both...

well, other than the whole cat issue, you have been judged acceptable for the time being. i dont mind rodents, but i still would choose a big ol' hairy dog over a cat or a rat any day! i thought everyone loved lego, but im guessing not. as for stargate, i am sooo glad a new season is starting, im getting tired of reruns!
good day
The Bad Kind of Puppy Posted Jun 11, 2003
Okay, okay... I'm not much of a dog person, I'm sorry. My family did have a dog when I was little, and I really liked her, but I don't think I'd be capable of taking the same sort of smell and messiness again, personally. Mind you, our cat is pretty good at smelling and being messy too...
Alas, it is not true that everyone loves Lego... Perhpas they do when they're younger, but at the age of 18 I tend to get some funny looks when I mention it. The best I can usually hope for is an 'awww, that's sweet' from a girl, which usually makes me feel like I'm 10. Ah well, I've learned to live with this sort of prejudice
If you're waiting for the new series of Stargate you presumably live somewhere in that whole North-American-continenty-thing (a very technical term that - US or Canada, I mean) - we probably won't get to see it on our TV screens in the UK for quite a while yet, but I'm hoping to be able to download the new episodes via the internet to keep me going.

There ain't nothing better than a big ol' smelly dawg to make a day better. I'm not talking LITTLE dogs, I'm talking dog as in 55-200 lbs. I love my kitty, but Wee Willie Winky tends to be rather moody and sneaky. He's quite the curious creature and attacks people for absolutely no reason. I love my dogs.
Lego rocks. My family really isn't much into sets, we just take the pieces we want and build the most...creative! things. I must say though, in recent years, I've moved away from Lego and onto Playmobile. The only person over 18 I've ever met who was still into Lego was mentally handicapped, so I can see where you'd get strange looks. Power to the Lego peoples.
That's what you evil UK-bugs get for living so far away! We've recorded every episode, and, I might as well tell you, Daniel Jackson is supposed to be back in the new ones. I think the premier is June 13 where we are, but I don't recall.

The Bad Kind of Puppy Posted Jun 12, 2003
Well, fair enough, if you prefer dogs to any other sort of animal, that's up to you. I still prefer hamsers, though. Although I did almost stand on the only hamster we ever had :S
Ummm... Playmobile? I'm sorry to ask, but how old are you, actually? Lego decently holds a fascination for older people, I feel, because it's not just a toy, but could be considered an artistic medium, and the ability to create a decent model is something that, in fact, is improved the older you get. Playmobile, on the other hand, is just a toy, with little people and vehicles... I don't mean to sound condescending, but you did call me evil...
Yep, 1st two episodes of SG-1 season 7 ('Fallen' and 'Homecoming') are on US TV on Friday 13th June, and I'm already aware of Daniel's return. Hope they're good... last season tended to suck...

My brother always had hamsters. The first two were okay then the rest were awful and liked to bite me. I'm not good with small animals...
I'm 16 going on 3. I never actually left the third grade, but I'm too smart for my own good. "For the older people?" My, my don't we sound uppity! Playmobile is for mindless recreation and Lego is for deep-thinking engineering types. Remember the frog....
Last season was rather disappointing. I have a question... why does Colonel O'Neill always wear sunglasses???
good day
The Bad Kind of Puppy Posted Jun 12, 2003
Sorry, didn't mean to get uppity - I just suspected you were insulting me... Thought I ought to defend my territory here You're 16, I apologise - I have no right to judge you for playing with Playmobile, while I'm still on Lego. Sorry.
The frog? Not sure I do remember the frog... Any particular frog? Is this a frog that enjoyed deep-thinking and engineering, and was beaten by a snail who liked mindless recreation? Or something like that?
I have no idea why Colonel O'Neill wears his sunglasses so often... maybe he just likes them, maybe he has sensitive eyes, maybe he thinks they look cool, maybe he wants to look like Jack Nicholson... I'm not really sure... I get the feeling it's because he thinks it looks cool. With the baseball cap and sunglasses, you get the feeling O'Neill likes to project the image that he's an overgrown kid, whilst deep down he's perfectly capable of making the sort of serious, sometimes difficult decisions that are required from someone in his position.

I'm hurt. You just cut me to the quick, I tell you. *sob, sniffle* Yes, I'm sixteen. Well, not really, I lie. I'll be sixteen in like 2 weeks, so I'm counting myself as 16.
Close. There's a joke about an engineer and a frog, and, considering my dad, it's sooooo true.
I agree with you. I think he thinks his sunglasses are cool. He's a bighotsexyhunkofman. He's a great character. He acts so sarcastic and "in charge", but he really is hysterical. I don't think it's the Jack Nicholson syndrome. They don't really have the same persona. I dunno.

Hey! How come your name is at the top of the "who's online" list and mine is at the bottom?? Snot fair, I tell you!

The Bad Kind of Puppy Posted Jun 12, 2003
Sorry, i didn't mean to hurt your feelings, I must have typed something badly so it came out wrong. I meant that there was nothing wrong with being (almost) 16 and playing with Playmobile, since I'm older than that and still playing with lego... Oh, now I'm just confusing myself... Sorry, anyway, for whatever hurt I may have caused.
Am I really at the top? Must be something to do with having a name beginning with 'B' I suppose, I'm not sure. It could be because you only joined fairly recently, so your ID number will be higher than mine. I'm guessing here.
Right... so assuming you dad's not a frog, he must be an engineer Well, surely he appreciates Lego then. He'll tell you its worthwhile. Hopefully. :-S
And I feel I have absolutely no right to comment on whether Colonel O'Neill's a Bighotsexyhunkofman, at least not without betraying my manly-ness.

Apology accepted. I only accepting it because I am such a nice, kind, loveable, wonderful, splendid, adorable, beautiful, and all around GREAT person. Easily confused, good sign...
I think it must be ID number because there are people with z's at the top of the list. Who knows?
Lego is quite worthwhile and he gets more of a kick out of it than anyone. He is an engineer in title only other than that. I follow the frog joke's idea of an engineer better than he does.
Surely, you can comment on whether he is a bighotsexyhunkofman-liness. I don't care what people say, a guy ALWAYS judges another guy's appearance even if they deny it. However, the sexy part is arguable...

Oh hi, you're back It seemed like you'd gone offline, so i assumed you'd be away for the night, although I have to remember that while it's about 10.15pm here, it's probably only about 5.15 where you are.
My dad's kinda an engineer to, but he's an electrical engineer. He tends to talk about confusing things such as wind powered turbines and voltage regulation and that sort of thing. I thought I might go in for that kind of thing myself - always loved Physics in school, strange as that may seem - but discovered I far prefered studying the structure of languages and their change over time (although even studying something you're interested in gets boring when it's for exams - my English Language one is tomorrow morning). I'm a kinda weird person then, half of me's sciency, and the other half's arty
Hmm... not totally sure why I just typed all that... put it down to revision avoidance tactics.
I don't personally judge other guys on how they look... Colonel O'Neill's cool, to me, in a strange way, but I've never really thought about how attractive he is, sorry. However, you are perfectly entitled to think of him as sexy and hunky, don't let me stand in your way

Tacysa Posted Jun 13, 2003
I flit on and offline all of the time. Sometimes I cook and most of the time I'm either feeding, walking, or grooming a member of our menagerie. That last time I was finishing packing and ridding myself of a pesky baboon that has been hanging around my aunt, uncle, and grandmother's residency. Shoo fly..
Eew the eew (copyright Cayle), physics. I loathe physics with a passion unbeknownst to any other subject. I may be progressing rapidly towards adulthood, but I still don't understand gravity. I understand about boring, I hate exams. Thank goodness I'm done for awhile. I couldn't stand to study languages. I'd go bananas and purposely screw up to add variety. Grammar makes me want to rip out my hair and scream and speak in tongues. I am about the same. I love biology and chemistry, but I love the arts.
You must have considered that he wasn't a horrendously ugly person at least. Hunky is not an appropriate word, it's too 80s, but other than that, he's not hunky, just MANYLY.

Ha? Sorry I haven't replied for a while. Good news is that I just found out I've passed my latin and Greek exams, so I won't have to resit those at least That's probably beside the point, though...
My family has kept quite a few animals in my lifetime, but nothing to match yours, I expect. We've had a dog, a hamster, several goldfish, we raised a couple of lambs for a while, and hatched ducklings in an old wooden incubator box my mum borrowed from her work, and we now have a cat who sits around all day, is generally lazy, and doesn't know the meaning of 'house trained'. The idea of a baboon showing up out of the blue is a new one on me, though, I have to admit. I've only ever seen them in zoos.
Physics can be fun Granted, it's usually not... but still, that doesn't mean it's incapable of it. Well. Maybe.
Okay, okay, so I can understand that O'Neill's not unattractive, I see what you mean. I'll give him that much, but think it might reflect wrongly on my disposition to make any further comment

Congratulations on your exams. If you study (usually lack of and long term procrastination) you have accomplished something great. Do you have to take any classes again?
It wasn't really a baboon, just this irritating fellow who my granny hopes to marry me off to one day. I don't really care for sheep. From my experience, they tend to be dumb, nasty, and they blow snot everywhere. I don't like goats either, but I refuse to go into that. I love ducklings, but I don't like birds either. (You should see my "I Love" and "I Hate" lists!) I've gotten attacked by geese and ducks too many times. I had to get stitches where a swan bit me, so I try to stay away from full-grown birds.
I try and stay far, far away from anything having to do with physics. I'm terrible at it. I'm only going to take it next year so my mother will be able to help me with it and I won't have to worry about taking it in college.
Living in a homophobic world. "I don't want to compromise my manliness! Oh, please, NOOOOOO!" *said in a high falsetto* You get my point though, so you're still better than most males.
good day
The Bad Kind of Puppy Posted Jun 28, 2003
Thanks I didn't do a whole lot of revision for them, so it's quite a miracle I passed, really. I shouldn't have to re-sit any of them, but I'm planning to continue with Latin and English Language, so it would be nice to do well in those...
So... baboon, eh? Take it you're not too fond of whoever this guy is. Oh well, I've heard some good lines from girls in the past, if he asks you out - 'I think it would feel too weird going out with someone I'm really good friends with' is a good one, 'Maybe sometime... but not right now' was the most simplistic, 'Let's think about it and change ourselves over the summer' made absolutely no sense to me at all, and still doesn't (is that even English?), and possibly the best was 'I'm busy that day - I have to help my sister get a skirt'. Or you could just go for Homer Simpson's 'three simple words - I... am... gay...'
I've been attacked by geese before too, but managed to run away in time, and I was sensible enough not to puch the full-grown swan any further when it opened its wings wide and straightened its neck... they can be quite scary when they do that. And I've only had stitches once, really, because I ran into a doorframe and split my lip. I was a stupid child. Now I'm a stupid adolescent - some things never change.
I'm not homophobic, I was just aware that most people in my year at school were quietly convinced I was gay, so I like to try and make it fairly clear that is not the case Although my overuse of smileys probably doesn't help convince anyone... I can understand people thinking Colonel O'Neill is sexy, but I also know people witha great passion for Daniel jackson, and much as I like the character, I can't understand that myself. Ah well, everyone has their own tastes
There I go again with the smileys...

I would hope if you planning on doing something requiring those subjects, you would do well. What kind of jobs are there for language majors exactly?
I hate being the prize cow and the fact that this guy is arrogant, 7 years older than me, and of good Tremaine stock doesn't help. He's only after me for the moment because I'm the only girl within a two-state radius that wouldn't be ready to father his children. I just kept telling him, "I'm leaving in a week (6,5,4,3,2,1 days), I will not marry you, I can not stand you. Leave me alone!" Must be the whole forbidden fruit concept.
I'm a total spastic. I always have a collection of bruises, cuts, and other abrasions. The doctors always admire my new ones; I think they are secretly awed I'm still alive. I seriously doubt you're stupid, maybe impaired...
Many people over the years have been convince that I was a lesbian because I was not infatuated with every male that came along and didn't spread it around the school if I was. Daniel Jackson is to sophisticated for me. I'm more of a "salts of the earth" kinda gal, myself. Whassamattawit smileys?

Hmm... I honestly have little or no idea what I could do with the subjects I'm taking, but I don't desperately want to think about it either, right now. My mum is terrified that I'll end up being a school teacher, which is a fairly poorly-paid job in the UK, especially considering most of my friends will be heading off into top professions in law and medicine, probably. I'm happy sitting for the moment with my hands over my ears going 'la la la' and pretending it doesn't matter if I know What I Want to be When I Grow Up.
That sounds an interesting situation you have there... Seven years is really quite a gap for a start. I suppose your only option is to keep fending him off, with a stick if necessary Or you could try the 'I'm 16, you're 23, do the math!' appraoch, but it doesn't sound like that's going to have much effect here. The stick is probably your best bet
Congratulations on your injury collection, it sounds impressive I try to receive as little injury as possible, I've always been a wimp. I've never even broken a bone, something I think I'm proud of... Didn't really do much in the way of climbing trees or playing on roads or whatever normal kids are supposed to do. Wish I had been that kind of child, but never was. And is that the second time you've implied I might be mentally impaired? Thanks for that...
Ah, I think I'm probably the opposite of you when it comes to what I'm looking for in a girl. I have to say i like geeky looking girls, pretty much... girls with glasses really seem to get me, and I love it when girls don't wear make-up... I honestly believe most girls are more beautiful without it. I'm going to stop there, I think; don't want to go overboard here.
Smileys are good, I just use far too many of them
