Could bring Alex Egg with me. One problem though -if I bring a kid and everyone then shoots off to pub I would be left outside Besides motherhood not good for my froody image.

Sounds like a good game of Calvinball. Anyone else out there ever gotten ripped and played a game of Calvinball?

Ginger The Feisty Posted Jun 23, 1999
No but I am the only calvin & hobbes fans I know of so other people just look at me blankly when I suggest it!

I hated Virus. It's too much of a cliche to be any good. Films I'm going to see next month:
Star Wars
The Mummy
Austin Powers 2
South Park
Any other decent ones coming out?

Wild Wild West has big machines instead. I may go and see that one. Not sure I've ever sat through a Woody Allen though.

Calvinball is actually really really hard to play. It's almost impossible never to do the same thing twice. Especially if you're drunk . It sure was fun to try, though!

The Mummy is great as long as you're ok with bugs and can stop laughing at all the mummy's that at one point seem to be dancing in formation. Well worth seeing though.

Ok, for the uninitiated then... who/what is Calvin and Hobbs?
ROUNDERS PARTICIPANTS
Ginger The Feisty Posted Jun 23, 1999
Cartoon characters - I showed you the book when we were in a bookshop somewhere!

Doug Dastardly Posted Jun 23, 1999
Does the cartoon strip usually run in a newspaper?

Ginger The Feisty Posted Jun 23, 1999
Express I think but I'm not entirely sure because I don't read it - I'll buy you one of the books at the weekend!

This is getting exciting. Loads has been happening since I went on holiday and loads seems to be planned.
We could get the Americans to organise a US rounders match and we could play them in an international
at some point. KEWL another Ashes!!!!
Peta dont worry, most boozers round Clapham have outside seats n stuff and I dont mind sitting out on a summers night
helping look after sprogs.
Love

We'll makw sure we find a pub that at least has a kids room - or we sit outside if it is nice! All kids, big or small, are welcome!

Is there a date actually organised yet? I can't remember.

TowelMaster Posted Jun 23, 1999
Yeah. I'm the Towelmaster and I only have to swim for about 2 days to get there(it's the running-part that bothers me, you know getting 'round Amsterdam and all).
Anyway I might be able to make it but there's question that comes to my mind ; I read things from so manu students tell me, do you take on people of over 30 ?

Doug Dastardly Posted Jun 24, 1999
I don't think there's any age limit and we're not *all* students! You shouldn't feel too out of place!
