This is very rude of me, but if you continue your conversations with Doug you will get more privacy using ICQ, an online chat/message program than on here. It is free - see www.icq.com and have a look. If you get any problems setting it up then leave a message on my home page (an email address of one of you would help too). LOL

Yeah Ian, that might be a good idea, but at least I suppose we know that these forums can cope with some heavy bombardment! Oh, and it did gets them into the top five! But is that a good thing!

I don't know if it's a good thing, that's up to you - just thought you might like a bit more privacy. Nice tactic though!
Jan . [and why does the smiley make things appear twice?]

Only makes things appear once on here! Hehe, well I'm having a look at ICQ. But yeah, if you want to attact people to your pages, *THAT* is definately a good way of doing it! Just keep rambling away until it appears in the top forums

It doesn't take that long either - Just a couple of hours of talking and you are on the list!

Doug Dastardly Posted May 22, 1999
Just a couple of hours? Six wasn't it Although your poetry entries appeared very quickly! I'm sure that poem of yours will be attracting a lot of feedback .

Ginger The Feisty Posted May 22, 1999
It already has. I'm sure I'll get some e-mails too as I decided to put a copyright stamp on it with my e-mail address!

Doug Dastardly Posted May 22, 1999
Gosh - you're taking a bit of a risk there! You'll be getting plenty of mails as soon as that starts working!

Ginger The Feisty Posted May 22, 1999
I know but I'll feel so wanted!
Do you think some publisher will discover me? Will I become the next Poet Laureat?
Ahem!.....
Doug Dastardly Posted May 22, 1999
I think you're going to get a massive load of blokes sending you angry emails where they've taken offence!
Ahem!.....
Doug Dastardly Posted May 22, 1999
Well, I'm sure you'll be able to judge who's who by their responses!

I've just read your poem - it is very good, and probably true (I am a man so I plead the 5th ammendment). On a philosophical note, the good thing about the Net is that you get to know someone first via their thoughts, then through what they look and sound like, and then physically (if you are lucky). I have a VERY good friend in the States who I've never met, but we got to know each other over the net, sent pictures (over the net), and she and I have a great relationship. It started in the mind though, not because of appearance.

Thanks for that! I agree with you entirely as I am more into personalities and less into looks as well. I think I may have to add an explanation to the poem all the same as I am expecting some hate mail to be generated by the poem and it was never intended to be insulting - just funny!
