The L is the Elevated train here in Chicago. (They have one in New York and one in.... I think it's San Francisco...too) And D.C. is short for Washington, D.C. (District of Columbia) which is our nations capital.
KM said that she entered L (Stage Left) and crossed DC (down center)
Beetle said he didn't know the L ran to DC.
