Sam,
I've hardly ever spoken to you directly onsite. However, your presence has always been noticed, and your work is much appreciated. Good luck!
I won't be able to leave you messages on that board very often - the URL is blocked for me. Never mind, though - make sure you stick with us here at h2g2, if from the other side of the monitor.
(I've always liked to imaging that the towers was inside my monitor. I don't know why...)

Sam,
Sorry to see you go; but, as for all of us, life moves on.
I had received notice that my piece on James P. Hogan's "Giants Novels" had been recommended for the EG. I had expected to hear when an editor had been assigned, but must have missed it.
In any case, I'd like to thank you for taking it on. I'd also like to offer that there is no rush, and if this duty should cause you any concern or stress, at this time of change for you, please feel free to ignore it, drop it, or pass it on to someone else.
If you do happen to complete your work on it, I hope that you will comfortable having had it as one of your last official duties before leaving.
Have a great new life.

Just popping into this thread to say that when we accept an entry, we initially get listed as its sub but that changes when a Sub-editor is given it as part of their allocation. So don't panic if you suddenly see Sam's name off this - it's not because he gave up on you

Hey, thank you Jimster,
Reassurance is a very ...., uh, reassuring thing.
I look forward to seeing it taken through the process.
