Cleaning up AWW

Hi
Some time ago you offered to help us clean up AWW - and here I am taking you up on the offer.
I don't know how this works in PR, so I am just posting here. Most of the stuff which is not very good is also not actually bad enough to remove. This however seemed to be an exception - it doesn't even seem flea-marketable to me.

And this one has been deleted by the author - shame really - it sounded interesting from the thread.

I don't know how you would feel about removing the following. They will of course just move further and further down the list as people continue to ignore them.
Anyway - for your consideration I offer you:

Hi Ben,
Okay, so, how it usually works is that a Scout nominates entries to be removed from Peer Review, and then another one seconds the nomination in the PR thread. That way the author, if around, is informed, and the decision is backed up by two people. I don't know whether you want to spring clean AWW in a similar fashion... it's up to you. You can post them either here or in Editorial Feedback.
Have you thought of a set of criteria for removal of entries? Author not posted for two months, that sort of thing?
Oh, also, good to be able to give you my input, via the ever-lovely Ashley, this morning
I've taken out the first two and am happy, if you are, to take out the rest... I don't know if it's appropriate for UG material to be put in the Flea Market. Especially if it's a personal opinion piece. Researchers might want to, though... What do you think?

I suggest you leave those great big rants while we work out how we want to do it.
My guess is that we will follow the same process as PR. It will be simpler and we already know it works. But it is not my decision to make, that one.
Thanks.

Another one for the Grim Reaper, I think. A848810
Thanks Anna.

Hi everyone!
Cleaning up the AWW sounds like a good idea However, I wouldn't want to have a '2 months' rule or something like that. AWW stuff won't improve through the Flea Market, and there's no other place for final storage

I am assuming that we will use the Grim Reaper maneuver where two Miners suggest that the entry is moved, and - hey presto - it is.
Destinations could be the Writing Workshop, Flea Market or just back to the author.
More tact will be needed to clean up AWW than PR because the criteria are more selective.
The entries above are all unreadable, which is why I felt able to ask Anna to move them without the formal GR process.

Oh I see you've got the pieces from R212432 which I've got on my black list too
And the four-eyes principle sounds good to me!

Well if you would like to sign up as a Miner, this appears to be the page. F114962?thread=249092. Then I guess the thing to do is to weigh into AWW and grimly reap.
Most of the stuff at the front of the queue is good or reasonable, most of the stuff at the end of the queue is poor, and I have not yet checked out the middle.
Cheers, Bossell (I didn't recognize you with the Italiano accento!)

Hey Ben and Bossel,
I wonder whether we should start being stricter about what gets moved to other Review Forums? Otherwise we could end up shifting the rubbish around.
to the suggestion about not waiting for two months. In fact, do you want to give AWW a really good Spring Clean (tis the season after all) before the UG gets started? I can start with those rants if you two are in agreement.
Let me know about any others you can think of.

If we're spring cleaning can I suggest the following:
A723043
A713260
A719183
A833186
A691797
A594641
They are all either empty or manifestly inappropriate, even for Spook's project.

I like the bizzare insanity of the last one...
I am not going to second its removal, but I won't oppose its removal either.
It is a nice thing to stumble across unexpectedly, and I love the last thing typed at the bottom of the page.

A805637 is not original either, and if no-one else has nominated it for the GR, I do so now.

Thanks for those. All gone, but the last one in posting 14. And Language Efficiency has gone too.
