Hi Anna smiley - smiley

I just wanted to say thank you for the whole help thing re London U - I still don´t know if it will be needed or not. But I have posted my application and am just waiting to receive confirmation that they got it and then to find out whether I need to do anything else or if I´ll get accepted as is.

The Iceland update is ready, I think. It´s in PeerReview and just needs to be Scouted, or plucked out of there by wings of the italics. If they can carry a load like that. This is all too confusing.

Anyways, how´s your new house? smiley - ok?

Dear ismarah,

No problem at all - good luck with your venture to the UK smiley - ok

I'm not sure the Iceland entry should be in PR as, strictly speaking, it's an update rather than a new entry to go into the Guide. If you take it out, let me know and I'll swap your version for the current one. It might be worth running it past Gnomon as the original author.

Our new house is totally brilliant. There's just so much space! We're settling in very well. There's not much emergency decorating to do, and we're still gradually sorting things out (really taking our time with that). The journey into work's not bad and it's in a relatively green area. Perfect really smiley - biggrin

I had sent you the details about it, but when you didn't respond to that in any way(probably on account of being on holiday), I figured that PeerReview wouldnt hurt it, and in fact it has improved it (as I suspected ) PeerReview did good, and Gnomon saw it there. We changed a few things and ended up agreeing about everything, so thats sorted Heres the PeerReview thread for it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/F48874?thread=207767 Feel free to update at any time (weeee- all the entries I have written so far are on their way to becoming Entries ) Green is good unless it's or . Of course, is good. The heavens should always smile upon us! Cheers ismarah

I have to say- Smiley Ben is a rather fast subber, isn´t he? smiley - biggrin
And I thought I was doing well, sending all my batches in after 2 weeks or so... I am clearly just a slacker smiley - weird

Heh- I thought that might be the case- You´d be running out of entries, I mean- everybody has been asking for more batches and presumably they're not actually endless...
TheDancingTree said something about someone subbing all the old entries, is that all done then?

Dear Anna- I´m stuffed.
I´ve just received the U´s response to my application and they couldn´t decide on the basis of my credentials alone so they put it to the special admissions panel (before I got a chance to respond to them planning on doing that) and the panel has decided that as I do not have an A-level in english, I do not qualify for the BA. They´ll offer me a spot in the diploma program, or I can appeal to their decision. I´m trying to think what to do (I´m very upset about this, obviously smiley - sadface) and whether the fight will be worth it. If you´re still willing to give me a reference that states that I mostly speak english, that would probably help. I´m in a bit of a state at the moment, so I haven´t decided what to do smiley - cry.
I´d probably get my boss to give me another reference, as I use english in the office as well, translating stuff on a regular basis.

ps. they seem to only accept A-level english candidates for this program, which I find a bit odd since it´s international. And taking any tests, such as IELTS or TOEFL isn´t going to cut it.
