It was me! I really liked putting that one together - as it was so relevant to me at the time, it just sort of wrote itself, or rather, I flowed it, and everyone else wrote it. I can't remember now. Which bit of advice did you add?

Anna

The bit about looking around a place at least 3 times, at different times of day.
I think it was one of my first ever posts on h2g2 actually, I never even realised it got included in an article.
Feeling well chuffed now smiley - smiley lol

Oooh I really don't know.
I don't feel like I know enough about anything to write an article. I just enjoy reading other peoples stuff and chatting with them.
Ask h2g2 has to be my favorite place here smiley - smiley

I did actually think of something really good to write an article on last night, but I woke up this morning and can't remember what it was for the life of me. lol.

I'd like to do something about children, cos I get so much pleasure from mine, and I like to think we've done a pretty good job bringing them up this far, and would like to pass on some of the tips. But I'm a bit worried I'd sound too pompous. I mean comming from a dad it's not as credible as we aren't the ones who spend the most time with our kids.
Plus I don't know whether it's the stuff we did that made our kids so good, like both of them sleeping through the night from 2 weeks old, or just whether we have been very lucky having two good kids. Hmmmmm

Sorry I'm waffling on again.
I'll give it some thought today and let ya know if I think of anyhting I feel knowledgable to write about.

Hey Simon,

Well, if you expanded on this a bit, then it would probably make a very useful Guide Entry. It would probably need an introduction and an explanation as to why you think these particular questions are important... I think you should consider putting it in Peer Review. Go on... smiley - winkeye

Oh sorry, I thought you said this Thursday. Thought you were being remarkably calm! lol.

How's your littl'un reacting( Dom wasn't it? ), is he excited about the move, or not quite sure what's going on yet?

Yes I'm very happy with the response from peer review, thanks for your help too.

We should have known not to start packing so early - he likes to pull everything out! Other than that he doesn't seem to have noticed what's going on. We often spend weekends with family so I'm hoping that he looks on the move as an extra long holiday!

Have you been back to Borough market for lunch? My breakfast was extra early this morning and I'm thinking about where the next meal is coming from already smiley - smiley

Lol at Dom pulling everything out the boxes. Trying to do a serious job with a kid around is hilarious isn't it. They seem to know exactly where to stand to get most in your way.
I try and get Charlie involved in anything I'm doing. Which often gets me slapped wrists from clare when he gets covered in paint or dust or drops a hammer on his foot. But we both have a giggle smiley - smiley

Don't talk about food! My tummy is grumbling like anything today smiley - sadface
Haven't been to borough market, weather has been to suspect lately. jus the thought of all that nice grub makes me want to run over there now though.
Have a good lunch, let me know what you have!

On my way to lunch in 3 minutes!

You know all that stuff about painting and hammering. Well, have you read a book called 'Raising Boys'? It describes how mothers and fathers have separate roles and a fathers role is all about teaching sons to 'be male'! It's a very good book - gives you a sense of responsibility and lessens the 'I haven't got a clue what I'm doing' factor. Very important to a first time parent like me!

I gotta get me a copy of that!

I'll agree that Clare is alot more cautious that me, or rather she sees more potential danger than I do. But thankfully she isn't one of these over protective mothers.

Without getting too 'deep' cos I've had a few beers and will waffle on forever (no change there) I don't really want to teach Charlie to 'be male'. In this day and age, sex has very little to do with ambition and opportunity, and I'd never want to pass on stereotypical views to him.

We have noticed that Charlie seems to be a very sensitive and cautious child, which is surprising, cos neither of us are like that (well the cautious part anyway lol, Clare is very sensitive.), nor do we encourage him to be like that, it just seems to be his personality.
We are thankful that he's not one of those kids that doesn't see danger, but we do try to make him a bit more confident and adventurous.

As long as he is happy, that's all that really matters right ?
What's Dom like?
