All medal winners are, of course, subject to the usual doping tests. Now what was in that cough remedy?

Are you bored, GU?
What if, in true Olympic style, you drop the highest and lowest score for each story and average the rest - would the result change?
What algorithm would you need to come up with to ensure that Fidjit gets the highest score?
It's a long time since o'level maths. I'm sure I did understand standard deviation once!
Means, modes and medians - I remember them!

Because you only submitted one story, so no deviation.

Look, you can all join me for a group hug on the top step when they play the anthem. Ladies first, obviously. 'Literature is the only winner here,' he said sickeningly.

Erm. A, I allowed in? My most sincere and humble apologies to Mel and Enigmatic, and to Roy and Rebecca for mucking up the scoring.
I had Roy and Rebecca on the next page and left off Mel's scores.
Thank you all for being so magnanimous(is that the word I mean)
It was a bit of a nightmare . I copied and pasted all the scores. Added them and then checked them with a calculator but obviously missing Mel's scores threw it all out. Knew I should have got someone to double check before I went off half cocked and announced a winner.
You can all slap me about with a wet
still, my hearty congratulations for Mel in second place and for Roy, now proudly on the podium, tears in his eyes as the strains of the national anthem fill the stadium.
I enjoyed ALL of the stories. The variations on the themes were very clever. Just one thing, if we do it again could someone else please add up?
My family won't let me add up the scores in scrabble!
Thanks guys.

I just got back from the cinema.
Spidey, no worries. As I said to the manager at the cinema who apologised for the film cutting out midway thru: "sh*t happens!"
Congrats to Roy - I was just keeping the podium warm for ya
