DG and I had a great time watching a kiwi TV series called 'The Almighty Johnsons'. It was terrifically fun and creative using very few special effects for such a supernatural premise. I hope the writers go on to make more series as they are very talented and all the young actors were really good as well. Mixing up Norse mythology and modern Aukland was an amazing contrast and was very funny.

Hi, Elektra, good to hear from you.
I don't watch much live TV, the addies here wind me up...

A while ago I set up a recording routine, for those programs I enjoyed at the time - I watch for maybe an hour or so in the evenings and so far, the available storage looks as if it'll last me out (if the programs do). (it's still annoying to have to FastFwd though... )

'The Almighty Johnsons' eh?, must look it up.

I hope you and, er, him are keeping well - you do a grand job with THE site - long may you continue. (I keep starting items for submission but then, coming back to finish them... the spark's gone).

A word of advice - - - do not get old.

Moving to a different place has taught us that we are no longer spring chickens here. The atmospheric pressure of the foothills and vagaries in the temperature are hitting us pretty hard. That and not being able to score some of our usual foods is taking its toll on us.

Unfortunately time marches on in one direction and you can't change it back.

How is your house coming along? Have you started any new wood-working projects? Just drop us a line when you get a chance because we're thinking of you.smiley - smiley

Woodworking projects?
No, no new ones...

...but I still have the episodes for the carving of a 'Green Man' - there doesn't seem to be any interest at this end - too many episodes... all 21 of 'em (and I can't see you wanting that much, either, not being craft oriented)

However, My Little Wooden Hut is coming along nicely. I have pictures and have been trying (ever so hard...) to put fingers to keyboard and do something about it...

...maybe one day (soon?)

Looking forward to seeing that Rod. Oh and we were gifted with two jars of Wedderspoon Gold Manuka Honey from New Zealand. Hopefully this will improve our health. It is supposed to be really wonderful stuff.

Manuka honey - lovely stuff and, as you say, credited with healing and health giving powers... what's its ? (there, that'll occupy you for a while, eh?)

I do hope it works for you - but two JARS? Cheaper by the boatload, I suspect... or at least truckload, for a family...

It's activity rating is 16, which I think is good. Do you know anything about that scale, it's kind a new one on me?

For two people who don't use honey much it will take a while to go through. I think there was a two for one sale at Swansonvitamens which is why DG's sister got it. It is usually about 40 dollars a jar because New Zealand is pretty far from us. How do you use it, maybe you can give us some ideas. I had some with peanut butter on slice of gluten free bread and it tasted OK.

Activity rating:

http://honeycentre.com/Manuka_Honey_Info.php

"... So, an activity below 10 is not regarded as "special" Active Manuka Honey in the opinion of the experts.
For this reason we do not call our Manuka Honey "Active" if it is not above 10 in Activity...
...So if you want Manuka for immediate medicinal use or preventative medicinal use, chose Active Manuka 10 +,15 + or 20 + with the red label."
