i have been told that you need ideas of what to do in Newcastle.
may i reccomend the following:
although technically not in newcastle, the metrocentre, is a HUGE collection of shops, all indoors.

Northumberland street, is in easy walking distance fron the central station and also the "metro" transprot system. and is also full of shops. (outdoors)

the Baltic art centre, is accesable by the new "millennium bridge" (the one that looks like a winking eye) and also has great views of the river and bridges.

if your traveling with young, the centre for life, is a good place to go.

there's the all famous bars and night clubs, (perfect for drinking some Newcastle Brown Ale)

there's also museums, art gallerys,shops, fantastic architecture. and shops.
