Lady P! smiley - wow Hello! smiley - smiley

Have we ever tidied up before? Is it the sort of thing we do?

*Casts eye over gathered detritus of old tiramisus, 'Teach Yourself the Piano' manuals, polar-bear-begnawed chew toys, biccie crumbs, pigeon feathers and badger comics*

Now, where do you want this plaster - you, or the cusp?

precisamundo! smiley - magic It beats that woman's dirty bed into the ground just on the purely asetical and artistical, let alone its mathmatical merrits, as what is clearly a uniquely designed and implimented mathmatical equasion of whatever it is its meant to be! smiley - zen

I wish I knew what the two of you are talking about. Women's dirty beds? Plaster and cusps? Are these some quaint English customs I am still as yet unaware of?

Kea, they're referring to a rather famous art piece by... arrrgh, Tracy something. Tracy Chapman? No that can't be it, can it? Wait, I'll ask Google.

Bing!

Right right, Tracy Chapman is a singer. I was thinking of Tracey Emin. Of course. Here: http://www.saatchi-gallery.co.uk/artists/artpages/tracey_emin_my_bed.htm

The blurb is, of course, long-winded rubbish, as usual, but the basic idea is around that whole post-modern thing about blurring the lines between what is art and what isn't, and about exposure (and narcissism too, I suppose, in a way), and about using things from everyday life, and all that.
Rather interesting within the cultural context, even though on its own, it's just a filthy bed in a museum.

Oh, and almost forgot to say hi, Trin. smiley - hug Quite rude of me. It's your house after all. How've you been doing?

Holds out cusp for a plaster. *Turns head*
I can't look at anything medical. I have to remove the lable from Night Nurse and write on Yummy Gargly Stuff in crayon.
And you can't get me near a pair of Doc Martens.

I've never been much in contact with him, so this is just a wild-donkey guess, but he probably got locked out of h2g2, like so many others have.

This place is getting quite wierd. I often have things rejected for breaking the rules but I don't know what rules they break! They tell me I might offend someone, but it's just my usual stuff and I don't use bad words. Unless vest is a bad word now...
