Thanks! Very handy!
I'd never noticed the <./>GuideML-Characters</.> page doesn't have the 'common or garden' ones. A very useful link to drop around threads in the weeks and months ahead, I imagine

I could see it being useful for Sub Editors (etc) when wanting to use an 'innocent word' - in the context of the subject, of course - that would otherwise (i.e. in plain text) trigger the filter to reject the whole entry

Useful for authors in the first place, too - I mean, most writing Entries for the EG star out their own swearwords if and when it's necessary, but without the special characters they can't even do that anymore
And perhaps even more useful for the UnderGuide and Entries heading to the AWW ... actually, I'm if anything rather more concerned about restrictions on freedom of expression with the creative stuff. How do we know some budding young writer isn't going to try their hand, hit the filter and think 'stuff it' before running away again?

We don't know, and probably never will - but I feel it is naive to think that yet another hurdle won't hurt
Assuming that the email address on your PS still works... you've got mail
