Did you see this story A2756405?
I particularly liked the request made at the end.

Peter,
I am bemused, why would a top German Engineer want to look at or ride in an Obsolete Tank.
The Comet had improved armour a 77mm gun in an electrically controlled turret and was first issued in 1944. Now he may have wanted to see that.
One thing I learned in a big Command Workshops was "Never upset the civilian labour" (you certainly could not sack them) and "never paint white lines on floors" anything inside white lines mummified and never went again.
Wish I could have learned all about those Ford Engines in a week, I was born into transport and still had to learn the hard way over a long period of time. The steering by the way was operated by braking the tracks as in a tank though they did have a wheel, it never worked properly.
Wonder what Tomcan would make of it.
Regards Frank
