hi Frank.
I'm sorry you will have to get your knees brown. You are nowhere near the cup. I have a photo of me taken in 1923 nine months old lying on a blanket in my birthday suit. At that stage I hadn't been issued with a uniform.
Regards
John Absolon

Hello John,
Sorry my lad wrong photo, click on to
(A1282358) and there you will see a star just born but already with a twinkle in the eye and dancing feet.
You are dead right about the knees brown bit, it annoyed me no end when we got to swim in the Canal. A boat would go through full of troops who would shout get your knees brown. we would be sitting on the side until the boat passed hoping to catch site of any female who did not look like a Camel.
I was so light skinned I had to take it very gently and I was a nice coffee colour two years later as I left. I did see more than one chap hospitalised then charged with self inflicted wounds so it was cover up for quite a while.
Hope you are keeping well John Regards Frank.
