Hello Ron,
Thank you for those comments, I cannot believe it, all three pictures posted are now on the site. Those beleaguered Staffers certainly got their fingers out.
The other two Ron are (A1250506) and
(A2097867) if you are interested. Regards Frank.

Hi Frank,

Weren't you handsome in that picture with your mother!

I have some good photos of my dad - one taken in the north of Scotland when he was training to be in a mountain division I think. However, I don't have a scanner - I wonder if the local library which has internet access for the public would do it?

The other thing I wondered is - can you add pictures to a story that you have already posted and which has been accepted?

It's certainly good to see what people look like - albeit a few years ago! You all looked so young! The hope and optimism seems to shine out of these photos. I suppose you all were at the cusp of manhood and your whole life stretched out in front of you. Makes me feel sad when you think of all the other boys in the services who did not come home.

Regards.
Marjorie

Hello Marjorie,
Thank you for those kind words and indeed the world was our oyster as they say.
I was 18 and fireproof or so I thought, nothing was impossible and we had learnt to live life fully by the war. We had sharp lessons to learn and you soon discover you are not asbestos coated after all.
I never lost my urge to make every day a fun day but I did become more cautious. I too remember others never made it back.
Without a scanner you will find it almost impossible to post images. You need to scan size and file the images on Word first or similar system with internet connections.
The libraries may help but you would need to log yourself on with their computer which opens you to others getting into your site.
Each story you have posted can be edited to put a photo on that page apart from your personal page, we are trying to fix that or I should say Peter is.
It looks like a non starter unless you can get the use of a scanner and the knowledge to size and file.
We have a massive thing that takes up more room than I do, I share it with my Son who is far more adept with it than I am. It took me hours to get the first image on the site but I have since speeded things up a lot.
Dont let it upset you Marjorie we all enjoy your efforts on here so keep posting.
Regards Frank.
