Thanks for the initial greet, great to be offered a guided tour of the site.

Quick question... Is it possible for hikers to be informed of others when they first log into H2G2? I've not been on long and have been contacted by another hiker - not surprising and in the very nature of H2G2. I work in security so have learned to check ppl out in a v. gently way. While looking around to get to know him he seems to be contacting others, all of whom seem to be female. This may just be me being paranoid and he's quite innocent and I probably have no business looking a who other hikers interact with. Any thoughts? Apologies in advance for any overreacting but I feel like I'm being hit upon.

The way h2g2 works is that people tend to just pop in and say hi to anyone, it may even be that he is practising to be an <./>ACE</.> but i will have a look at who he is.

But you are quite right to not give out any info. If you feel uncomfortable, just ignore him and he will get the message.

Had a quick look at the researcher and you are right. It may be that he goes to the <./>online</.> (along the top or LHS column) and when it flags a researcher as 'new this week', he may pop along to introduce himself.

It doesnt look as if he has continued contact with others on site, so i would just ignore him.

But if you feel he posts anything inappropriate then left me know asap.
