Hi there, Taamyu!
Shea the Sarcastic Started conversation Jan 13, 2004
I thought I'd drop by your space to say hello! I'm also a middle-aged woman, but I'm from the U.S. I live in New York, on Long Island. I'm not too sure how speaking to a "Noo Yawka" will help your English, though!
It looks like we both like the same sort of music! I'm afraid I'm as bad as my father was when he always listened to his music from the 1950's! I seem to be stuck in my old 1980's music!
I'm at work right now, and need to get a few things done. I hope to talk to you again soon!
Hi there, Taamyu!

Hi there, Taamyu!
Shea the Sarcastic Posted Jan 13, 2004
That's one of my nicknames! People seem to collect a lot of different nicknames after being here for a while!
Hawaii's a very long trip from here! I have a friend who's family is from Hawaii, and I've seen some of his wonderful photos. It looks beautiful!
Japan has been one of my "dream" trips. You know how you dream about travelling to different places? Japan seems to be a beautiful place to me. I used to have 2 large posters of Japan in an office I had. I also had some posters of Paris. When things got too hectic at work, I'd sit back, look at the posters, and imagine I was there.
Hi there, Taamyu!
kbrtiata Posted Jan 13, 2004
I live in Osaka, the second biggest city in Japan.
I LOVE Osaka
If you have computer, go to
http://www.octb.jp/english/
You can see some kind of aspects of Osaka (this is made by Osaka prefecture gov. (of course english version))
I have some pics of Oskasa, but I can't paste them here
Yes I also go to 'France' as my friends (French) live there, so US as well. My friend lives in IL.
Of course England!!!
Oooooo Lots of places I want to go.
Hi there, Taamyu!
Shea the Sarcastic Posted Jan 13, 2004
I've bookmarked that Osaka website you gave me. I'll look at it tomorrow when I have more time. Thank you!
Hi there, Taamyu!
kbrtiata Posted Jan 13, 2004
My pleasure
I'll try to find another lovely site when I find
I think that it's freezing in New York, isn't it?
Keep warm yourself
Taamyu
Hi there, Taamyu!
Shea the Sarcastic Posted Jan 13, 2004
Not *quite* freezing here. It's 36°F/2°C. It's supposed to get frigid again in a few days, though. It was very, very cold over the weekend, with a wind chill of -10°F/-21°C ... and it's supposed to get colder!
What's the weather like there?
Hi there, Taamyu!
kbrtiata Posted Jan 13, 2004
It's cold today and the wind is whirling
Normally, I suppose, it's about 1-10°C degeree in winter in Oskaa.
But it snow sometimes in mountainside of Osaka if it's toooo cold.
I guess it's colder in New York than Osaka
But cold here
Hi there, Taamyu!
Shea the Sarcastic Posted Jan 13, 2004
It isn't usually this cold. We've had an arctic blast lately!
We had a little bit of surprise snow last night, but just a dusting. Nothing like the blizzard last month!
Hi there, Taamyu!
kbrtiata Posted Jan 13, 2004
Although we haven't much , we have heavy in another part of Japan, so that we can , my favourite sport.
but I afraind I cann't go ing
Hi there, Taamyu!
Shea the Sarcastic Posted Jan 13, 2004
Why can't you go ?
I don't , because I'm afraid of heights, and I don't think I could get myself to ride on the ski-lift!
Hi there, Taamyu!
kbrtiata Posted Jan 13, 2004
I havn't got any money
Also I've got ill(mentally, but now I'm recovering), so that I can't go
But I can say I'm good at
And I'm bad at swinning
Hi there, Taamyu!
Shea the Sarcastic Posted Jan 14, 2004
I'm thinking having no money is worse than being ill ... after all, you can get better.
I'm good at swimming! It helps that I live on an island!
How are you today? I'm a little bit busier at work than I was yesterday, but I still wanted to stop by to say hi!
Hi there, Taamyu!
kbrtiata Posted Jan 14, 2004
Thank you for your kind thoughts and greeting
Can you imagine? When I float on my back I'm sinking and sinking
Sooooo do you live in London or New York???????
Hi there, Taamyu!
Shea the Sarcastic Posted Jan 14, 2004
You sink? You must be very thin! I float! Especially in saltwater!
I live in New York, on Long Island. I wrote about it here, if you're interested: A507241
That reminds me! I'm sure you could write Guide Entries about Japan. You've got a great grasp of English, have you thought about doing this?
It's time for me to go home now. I hope to talk to you tomorrow!
Hi there, Taamyu!
kbrtiata Posted Jan 18, 2004
Hiya
Yes, I sink even on the salt water
New York is such a BIG CITY
Oooo it was snowy last Saturday in Osaka, my hometown, . It's very rare to have snow here (2-3cm snow) (it's 02.00 of the 19th in Japan/09.00 on the 18th in New York, I guess??) It's raining now I hope it'll fine when I wake up this morning
Hope you'll have a Lovely Sunday
Taamyu
Hi there, Taamyu!
Shea the Sarcastic Posted Jan 23, 2004
I did!
Hiya, yourself!
Sorry it took so long for me to reply. I've been very busy lately, and this is my first chance to post here in a while. I only have about 15 more minutes until I have to get back to work!
Hi there, Taamyu!
kbrtiata Posted Feb 10, 2004
Hello,
for delayed reply as I've not been in good mood for weeks
I'm fine now , though I'm sad that lots of my friends who use digi-box can't come here anymore
How are you?
Hope you remember me still now and keep in touch
Take Care
Taamyu
Hi there, Taamyu!
Shea the Sarcastic Posted Feb 14, 2004
Of course I remember the gal from Osaka! I tried to think of something that rhymes with Osaka, but I don't have a lot of time!
I've been very busy myself lately, and only seem to have the time to post here during my dinner break at work! Which is over in 4 minutes!
Hi there, Taamyu!
kbrtiata Posted Feb 14, 2004
