Oh, and by the way, I was wrong about the Heavy Metal. What I really meant was that I hate songs where the singer is just screaming at the top of his lungs into the microphone without actually singing anything.
And, for that matter, I generally prefer music where there's no singer at all. I still like music with lyrics of course, as much as anything, but I'd rather listen to something without them, most of the time.

Okay, in order again (sorry to stuff up your tangents!)...
Black is both a colour /and/ a shade. Don't feel guilty about thinking that black is a colour.
It's the same principle as why artists think that the colour white is made up of red yellow and blue, and physicists say it's made up of cyan, magenta, and er... yellow? There's a difference between what colour /is/ and how we see what it is.
Er. yeah.
And has anyone else noticed that there are two groups of people in this world: Those who hear a piece of music and listen to the lyrics, and those who hear the same piece of music and listen to the other instruments? I'm one of the latter kind; I think Arisztid is one of the former. Just one of those things. I tend to prefer music which doesn't have lyrics, just because then the lyrics aren't distracting.
And damn I wish I could find decent cheap sunnies... Job you should teleport a pair to me. Right now. Go. Do it! Hurry up!

Arisztid Lugosi Posted Mar 23, 2005
yay! a color!
oh.
*goes back to looking depressed and angry at the same time*
no, just kidding
yep. i'm definately one of the former...... and then again..... can i be put in the middle? please?
because i love the lyrics, i love to sing along(when no one is listening). but at the same time i also love the instruments. however, its true that for the most part i prefer music with lyrics. some classical is good though.....
and i'd send you some cool sunglasses....... only i dont know what kind you'd like.

~*~Don't feel guilty about thinking that black is a colour.~*~
No problem. I don't. Why should I?
~*~And has anyone else noticed that there are two groups of people in this world: Those who hear a piece of music and listen to the lyrics, and those who hear the same piece of music and listen to the other instruments?~*~
No actually, I didn't. But I think you're right, now that you've said it. But I do listen to the lyrics more than the instruments in some songs, just not very many. But I think that's what you were saying anyway.....
~*~I'm one of the latter kind~*~
And I thought I was all alone!
~*~I think Arisztid is one of the former.~*~
Oh, I'm sure of it.

You and me both.

I don't like lyrics without music either. It just doesn't sound right if you don't know how to incorporate the instruments.

Its why i prefer music to poetry.

Sorry, perhaps I wasn't clear. I didn't mean that people-in-group-'a' prefer to listen to lyrics without any music, I meant that two people can listen to the same song and afterwards one of them will remember the lyrics but weren't paying attention to the guitar or whatever, and the other person can tell you which bit of the song had the bit which goes 'da-da-DA-de-do', but couldn't tell you what the singer was singing about because they weren't listening to her.
Different people focus on different parts of the music, basically. And usually that's either the lyrics /or/ the rest of it.

Arisztid Lugosi Posted Mar 24, 2005
hmm....
you may not belive me but i think i might be in the middle....but leaning toward the side with the lyrics.... because i think that i listen to and enjoy both the lyrics and the music, i remember them both... but if i was listening to the song i wouldnt be humming allong to the guitar or whatever, i would be singing allong but then when it gets to the insturmental i'll hum allong to whatevers playing...... but some songs definately have better music than lyrics....
