Darn this new conversion of hootoo thingy! I don't know where my Z has gone! I also don't know where the bit that went after my name went. Do you know how I can get my Z back?

Not really. I haven't used the new skin. I'll see if I can figure it out.

Okay. IF I'm right, clicking on this link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/user/U237809/preferences/ will take you to your preferences page. From there you will see a dialogue box with a link called "Settings". Click said link and (after confirming your password) you will be taken to a page that will allow you to modify your name, including adding a tag line after it.

Regardless, it appears that the preferences button in the alabaster skin still works, and it would probably be easier anyway.

Grr.... I tried it and it says it's changed but it's obviously not.

This whole darn site seems to be going to he!! in a handbasket. It's so horribly depressing!

In happy news I've found a new band that I like quite a lot. Who doesn't want to listen to a song called "Sexy Bum"? I think maybe I'm just getting crazier as time goes on.

I have so much laundry to do.


Oh! More good news! I moved desks at work so I'm not under the air-conditioning anymore!! Yay! Also, I'm now sitting right next to a very nice lady. It's not as well lit but I'll live. I find fluorescent light very harsh anyway.

You do seem excited. Can't say I agree with you about fluorescent light though. But I usually prefer it dark anyway. Do you like different colors of light? I like green light.

YES! Z!!!! WELCOME HOME!!!

It's very nice to have my Z back. I was beginning to despair that I'd never see it again.

Today was a stupid day at work. I don't like the new woman and it's made worse by the fact that there's no reason for me to not like her.... so on top of not liking her I feel guilty. I'm training her and she asks a million questions and I don't mind questions because, fair enough, she's new, but he asks about things that really don't matter at all and when I tell her they don't matter and why they don't matter she won't let it go! And then when I try to give her an answer it never seems to be a good enough answer for her and so everything just takes so long. And she is very insistent that I show her how to use a program she's not going to have access to anyway. I showed her so she understands the process I have to go through so that when she gives me her information perhaps she'll know what I'm looking for, but again we got caught up in a lot of details that don't matter to her.
Today, in the middle of training her, I actually had to get up and walk away. I did it under the pretext of having to go and ask someone a question, which I did anyway... but I just needed some space. I'm going nuts.
And there's so much work to do! I'm completely swamped and I'm not getting to any of it because she's taking up all my time. On top of that I had three phone calls about one of the weekly reports that I do. I'd just sent this one this morning and guy I usually send it to is away on holidays so this other woman is filling in for him and I wouldn't mind her having questions but it wasn't just questions it was her insisting that I do things that aren't my job and other unnecessary things. She even called my boss to complain that I wasn't doing something she'd asked me to do!! Not my job! Fortunately my boss backed me up.

Oh! But I went for a walk today! And it was so beautiful! It was very cold but the sun was shining and the sky was mostly blue! I usually don't get to see outside from 7-3pm so it was nice to have a glimpse of the late morning. I'm actually sitting in the sun now as I type to you from the couch.

Or to be more explicit, asks so many questions and wants to know so many things that it pulls you away from your own job...... Which seems like reason enough to be annoyed with her at least.

I really should be doing homework now. I've basically spent the entire day reading about Pride and Prejudice on TVTropes and the day before the day before that I played through Portal from beginning to end. But, just so you don't think I'm a complete slacker, yesterday I spent writing a book review on a book I didn't finish for my History Seminar class (which is largely ripped off from another thing I wrote months ago), and last Sunday I cleaned up my room at last. So there's that.

And I spent $20 bucks on a new can opener today. It better be worth it.

Okay, you make a good point. What I meant was it doesn't seem like enough of a reason for me to dislike her so strongly. But honestly, if she says "ding dong" one more time I might be arrested for violence in the work place.

Um.... Both, I suppose.... Actually, what really bugs me is when people ask questions that have obvious answers. And when you ask a question that only needs a simple answer but they go on for half-an-hour! Bah!!
