Hi Peta,

I think you were before my time, but I would have come across you on some of the /DNA threads.

Can you tell us about the Community Editor job back in the day? What your role was and the kinds of things you did?

We're having a discussion about this in Ask. There's been the suggestion it would be good to have Community Editors again on h2g2 post-sale.

Hiya Kea

Yes, I remember seeing you on here too... smiley - smiley

Just before Mark Moxon and I left we wrote it all up, you should find all the info you need in here..

A community editor was essential in the BBC (moderation/crowd control etc!), but you might find that you don't really need it as an essential in a self-governed independent community, although some of the roles I undertook might be useful to you.

One of my main roles in the initial pre BBC days was to help the community grow, so it might be useful from that angle?

I did all sorts of things, recruited Aces, organised new volunteer groups, did external publicity and interviews, organised official meet-ups, promoted h2g2 on the web - anything to help h2g2 grow.

Thanks Peta, that's very helpful and the Hub pages look like a good resource! I haven't seen those ones before and will pass them around.

The Interim Committee, have set up some interim Community Editors (volunteers):
