The London meet has been sorted, and its on 10th July. I'm definately going I commited myself....i think that should have been 'admitted' to the local loony bin! Anyway are you going to try and come? My friend is comming from Germany, just to go to this meet, so i can't let her down
How did your stag weekend go? come to think of it, i havent seen you around since then....did you get back??

10th July, I'll have to consult my oh-so-busy diary to see whether there's a window for the meet.....
The football seems to be doing me no end of good. ning about for an hour a week is clearly something my body has been craving now for years, but it has a funny way of repaying me - aches and stiffness! In all fairness though, the stiff joints seem only to last the evening now, as opposed to the rest of the week as it used to be!!
The stag in Edinburgh was a cool thing. Much drinking and joviality was enjoyed by all 12 of us, and not a dancing girl in sight! Wasn't for the lack of trying by a few though
I'm working this weekend, it's our busiest time of year by a country mile so I can't be on long. Just enough time to say that you seem to be in a happier mood lately, hopefully that'll keep up and we'll chat soon.
Laters mate
John

Gl;ad you appreciated the "Bradford (West Yorkshire)" thing - only fair really, seeing as how he took offence at my initial nametag!
Today's been a really weird day at work. At times we had queues coming out the door; then it got to 5pm and everyone just disappeared! It seems people think we are only open til 5 on a BH Monday, so we've only taken a few pennies since 6!!
Off home now for a VERY well-earned beer and perhaps a spot of chicken fried rice if I can be bothered to knock it together once I'm through the front door!!
Have a good evening, speak soon.
ps - is it Claudia who's coming over for the meet in July? (sorry, lurking again!)
Hello :o)
~:*-Venus-*:~ Posted Apr 13, 2004
hehehe silly man taking offence, he should have known his area would be the next target! Hey!! i had no idea you were a 'tart' i thought that insult was directed more towards the female of the species!!
It was manic at work BH.Monday is always the same like your place though, everyone disapeared at 5pm, we did'nt close till 6pm. We were glad of the break though
Back to normal today (i hope)
Yep, its Claudia who's coming over from Gernamy for the meet. I hope she's not disappointed after coming all that way
Hello :o)
The Godfather of Cheesecake Posted Apr 13, 2004
Yep, back to normal, whatever THAT is?!?! Oh well, another day another irate customer.
Oi! I'm not a tart, and i'll thank you for not saying so!!!
Now why would Claudia be disappointed by coming all this way to see you? Is she an old friend?
Football tonight, can't wait this week. IO suppose you could come and watch, I'll get you tickets once I sign professional terms with Liverpool.
John

The Godfather of Cheesecake Posted Apr 13, 2004
Liverpool may seem a long way away to you but it'll always be home to me. I can see the headlines now....... "Local lad returns home to make good his boyhood promise." I suspect I'll end up becoming the most expensive player in Europe when I sign for the Reds, and then score the winning goal against Everton in the F.A. Cup final at the new Wembley stadium.
My International career will culminate in leading England to consecutive World Cup wins in 2006 and 2010, and I shall be nominated to replace Pele as the World's greatest living sportsman.
Years later, after a series of unofficial biographies try to shoot me down in flames, the truth will emerge about how my career could have turned sour after a meeting with the Liverpool board, before my agent (who will actually be my dad. This will prove I REALLY do have my feet on the ground) stepped in and talked the club into offering me an improved contract.
3 Celebrity wives later, I'll marry my childhood sweetheart and my sons will captain Liverpool for generations to come.
Trust me, this COULD happen!
Hello :o)
~:*-Venus-*:~ Posted Apr 13, 2004
yes of course it could!!
You forgot to mention a certain person that persuaded you to go and play footy again!! Oh well i've already had my 15 mins of fame when i appeared on 'Trisha' a few years back
Hello :o)
The Godfather of Cheesecake Posted Apr 13, 2004
You appeared on Trisha? Dare I ask in what capacity?
As for my story, I get the distinct impression you think it's totally unfeasible. Well let me tell you, I have seen the future and it's bright. Especially for natural athletes like me who are prepared to take a chance on life by jacking in my job and concentrating on becoming a professional footballer.
So that's what I'm gonna do. I wasn't convinced until now but your pessimism has driven me to it. I've just spoken to my boss and broken the news to him that I'll be leaving the company with immediate effect to begin training with a local Sunday league club. Come to think of it, there was also a look of quizzical bemusement on his face when I told him, too. This pessimism must be catching!
Hello :o)
~:*-Venus-*:~ Posted Apr 13, 2004
You jacked in your job!! and just how much money do you expect to earn in the 'Sunday League'?? from what little i know of footy the earnings for sunday footy are zilch! nowt! nothing! this could make living a little difficult to say the least, mind you tramps seem to manage ok!!
my experience of the Trisha show is not one to be repeated. I was on there with my daughter and her partner (now Ex) It was awful, people have no idea what goes on before you get on stage all the 'playing off' one against the other by the staff by the time you get on stage your ready to explode

The Godfather of Cheesecake Posted Apr 14, 2004
After last night's performance, where I scored 7 goals and played like an absolute football god, I felt confident enough to walk up to my boss this morning and hand in my resignation.
I rehearsed my speech - short, witty, to the point and not over-elaborate. My mirror bore the brunt of me reciting this well-prepared rant for nearly an hour before I left for work; by the time I was done I felt as confident as a fox in a chicken run.
I left no stone unturned. I left in plenty of time to miss the traffic and have a once I was there: I didn't want anything to come in the way of me and my moment of glory!
Walking from the car into work felt like I was walking on a cloud, I sauntered really. Giving scant regard to the other managers, who have stood (albeit unwittingly) in the way of my smooth transition from Retail Manager to Professional Footballer, I waltzed up the stairs to the smoking room to enjoy a final cigarette. I finally understood how wrongly convicted criminals must feel when they know they're going to be released.
The social foreplay dispensed with, I beat a steady path to the General Manager's office. I straightened my clothes, rubbed my shoes down the backs of my legs, checked my hair and took a deep breath..........
Two brisk knocks and straight in. In I walked, shaking half with nerves and half in anticipation. Anticipation of the moment which would define my life for the foreseeable future. But before I could open my mouth the wind was taken out of my sails in an instant. Three small words greeted my query as to the whereabouts of my boss:
"He's on holiday,"
My boss is on bloody holiday - I'll have to do it all again next week!!!!
Seriously though, I'm really well! Hope you've had a good day, speak soon
John

I'm good had a lovely day out in London, my feet would tell you otherwise though I was just like a 'tourist' for the day

Hiya Jen
Ever so sorry I haven't even been around for the last week or so, I've had a couple of interviews for internal jobs within my company and also a few days where I've been running training sessions. Anyway the upshot of it all is that I didn't get the one I REALLY wanted but I got the one I kinda wanted!!
Unfortunately no more money as yet but I get a car with this new job and slightly more flexible hours (i.e. shouldn't have to work as many weekends as i do now)
How's you then Hope all's well in Venus' world!!
Let me know what news you've got, speak soonx
John

Work has been manic its our busiest time now, and next monday will no doubt be the climax I barely survived last years bank holiday!!
Speak soonoon, take care
Jen

The Godfather of Cheesecake Posted Apr 28, 2004
Oh yeah, forgot you read tarot cards!
Any chance of you doing an online reading for me so I can find out if this job is gonna change my life forever?
I've never done anything like that before so it'd be interesting to see what it's all about. Of course I'd understand if you can only do these things in person but it could be fun.....
Thanks for the congrats, I should start June 1st and even though I only heard today, I've ALREADY started winding down in my current job
Hello :o)
~:*-Venus-*:~ Posted Apr 28, 2004
I've tried online readings before and it does'nt really work. Its difficult to 'tune' into words on a screen Some people can do it, but not me. It has to be face to face
I'm normally pretty spot on too
I'm sure your new post will go just fine after all its not as if your a newcomer eh!
Hows the training going?
Hello :o)
The Godfather of Cheesecake Posted Apr 29, 2004
You mean the football training? Yeah, it's going really well actually. You were right, the longer you do something the easier it gets!! I knew that really but it's surprising how not doing something for a while can affect your confidence to be able to do it.
Played again Tues night (in the p1ssing rain, I might add!) and recovered quicker than I have been. My body, bless it, has finally got it through its thick skull that I intend to do this EVERY week, so it'd better get used to it!!
J

have you been 'training' at something else then?
i wish my body would get used to the fact that it will be slaving in the garden for a few more months yet!!
I'm going on a first aid course tomorrow, courtesy of work Theres 4 of us going so it should be fun, especially as there is a pub accross the road for lunch Not sure how fit we will be be in the afternoon though
