That's interesting!
Hoon on this page was the medieval spirit of the Saxon forests, it was he that Robin Hood prayed to. When you touched a tree and made a wish is was Hoon who listened. "Touch wood" (for luck) is the expression today that remembers the practice.

That's interesting, makes me wonder how it got corrupted to mean reekless teenage boys
How are you finding this place?
Hello and welcome

I'm enjoying it. There are some really nice people on here, and some silly ones! But then again if we were all the same there wouldn't be any point to the site would there?
Hello and welcome

Too true
I like some of the silly game threads, they can be quite relaxing, when I'm stressed
It is amazing what you can find even when I'm not really looking
I've subscribed to heaps of things, so all sorts of things pop up om my page

It seems that a lot of people on here are into the Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy in a big way. I never read the books, but I did see the TV series.

I have to admit I am addicted to this site
As a shift worker I live strange hours, awake at odd times, this place gives me something to do in the early hours of the morning.....
makes the world smaller somehow

I used to have a job where I worked all through the night, but my stomach couldn't get used to eating at all the "wrong" times. Eating my lunch at 4 in the morning, and then going to bed at 8 in the morning was very hard to get used to.
Hello and welcome

I've found that I tend to graze through the shift and eat normally when I'm home, I am often too busy at work to eat anyway
Thank the stars I only do shift work for about 22 weeks a year, rest of the time is normal work hours

Do you find it hard to change from one shift pattern to the other?
Key: Complain about this post

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
