Hey, Met....
Arisztid Lugosi Posted Apr 27, 2009
I'm trying something new. I'm leaving myself signed in but then when I'm not around I put my computer to sleep and it signs me out.... so we'll see how that works out.
Sorry to have missed you. Will you send me your new cell phone number? I've misplaced it and can't text you.

My hand feels itchy.
The weather outside doesn't look so nice but I think I'm going to go out and perhaps do some yard work. I want to /do/ something. I'm tired of sitting around.

I know how you feel. But right now, what's really bugging me is that everyone is always so obsessed with planning everything 2 years ahead. Why are they all in such a rush?

Well quite apart from the two tests I have to do on Friday, my teachers insist that I have all my classes registered for next year by Friday, even though it's months before the next semester starts. Then of course I have to be moved out and gone from my apartment by Saturday at 11 a.m., and I haven't even started packing, let alone cleaning this place. Then, I gurantee you, Dad will want me to get a job by Monday, and he'll snipe at me constantly until I do it. But the thing that really bugs me is that they want me to have every detail of my life planned and set in stone for five years in advance without ANY deviation WHATSOEVER! I just don't think that far ahead, dang it!!!
That's how it feels anyway.

Interesting. I guess I can understand about registering for classes... you don't want all the classes you want to take to be taken by the time you register. My teachers never say anything to me about it though. And I'm just the crazy kind of person who has it all planned out as soon as the calendar comes out before I can register.
As for having a job by Monday that is just stupid. Have you even started looking? These things take time and surely your Dad must realise that. Unless he expects you to be completely unchoosey. I'm very choosey.... so maybe it just takes /me/ a long time to find a job? But I don't want to get stuck doing any old horrible thing for the summer.
As for the five year plan.... well what I do is I make a plan and then I tell people.. or some people anyway. Some people don't mind if you admit you don't know. But anyway... I have a plan that could last me eight years or so.... but just make something up that sounds like what you might do and then allow yourself to change your plan if you want.
Anyway, that's what I think... but I'm about to go out with my Dad to get gardening stuff.
I may be on tonight... but we'll see.

Oh, I know. But the computer system won't even /let/ me register yet, so what's the big deal?

Awww. I dont think I would mind, but only because I would be doing it anyway.

He's a workaholic. And I just had an (unfinished) fight with my Mom, which stemmed from the fact that on this one particular (extremely busy) day, I've been awake for 30 hours straight, which she interprets to mean I'm manic (in true, panicky, parent style), and because I choose not to obey an order to go to sleep (primarily because it was phrased as an order), she starts ranting about how I'm in her house and I have to follow her rules and I'm not allowed to be myself, and every time she does that it makes me feel like she thinks I'm not acceptable as a person. I knew moving here for the summer would only lead to trouble.
I'm sorry this Thread is turning into a laundry list of reasons I feel miserable.

Woah seriously? I cut my left thumb on Wednesday!
And then Yesterday I cut my right pointer finger. Very frustrating.

Mr. X ---> "Be excellent to each other. And party on, dudes!" Posted May 9, 2009
Actually, that is kind of strange, because it's my left thumb too!!
Not my pointer finger though. How'd you cut them? Mine was on a crushed can.
Oh, and more annoying stuff (though not a big problem), my tooth implant's crown came off. (That's the part that functions as the tooth, the implant is there to hold the crown on.)
Parents are nothing but trouble.
Arisztid Lugosi Posted May 11, 2009
We cut the same thumbs!!??
I cut my thumb when I was sawing something and I cut my finger on a plastic hanger. I thought I'd just scratched myself and I thought to myself at the time that it would be so stupid if I had cut myself. And I had!!! Who cuts themselves on a plastic hanger!?! It had a sharp bit that caught my finger as I was taking my shirt off.
That is very annoying about your tooth. Poor you! Will it take long to get fixed?
Parents are nothing but trouble.
Mr. X ---> "Be excellent to each other. And party on, dudes!" Posted May 12, 2009
Why were you holding the hanger as you took your shirt off?
No. In fact it's already done, that's what we were doing today. Although it's still only the temporary crown, and I have to set up an appointment with my dentist for a permanent crown.
