My Life in Introductions
So, I'm reading a posthumous collection of Douglas Adams' work titled "The Salmon of Doubt," and it's turning out to be a lot more funny and a lot less sad (what with it being posthumous, and all) than I thought it would be, when it mentions a funny little site hosted by the BBC.
And so I take the on-line tour and I read the instructions and they tell me that, in order to participate, I'll need a personal page and that the personal page will need an introduction, and before I really take a good look at the site and figure out what kind people I'm introducing myself to ... well, here I am.
I'm youngish, American and a journalist, and I pray you won't hold any of those three qualities against me. Not when there are so many more worthy qualities of mine to take offense at.
Riding Shotgun is a column I write for http://www.crunchable.net" >http://www.crunchable.net - a little site dedicated to showcasing creative nonfiction by young writers with a bit of free time on their hands and boasting a readership hovering in the single digits. The site includes a slim biography and a poorly-realized photograph of myself and so, in a barely disguised promotional attempt, I direct you there.
