Well I'm at uni and I'm bored so I just thought I'd drop by with a few links to my favourite places on h2g2..
Challenge h2g2, where people post suggestions of entries that need writting to fill holes in the guide A1293365
A304354 The Atelier, one of the nicest places on h2g2, the place where I got to know Ben and numerous other friends no one has read all the backlog here, this conversation has been going on for days..
A148907 Ask h2g2, where questions meet debate, meet chat, meet flame wars. Everything happens here..
Especially the infamous British English thread, where pedants gather and I avoid F19585?thread=100569&post=5726943#p5726943
Ooh yes and there's the h2g2 newspaper that I write for on an 'on and off basis' <./>thepost</.>
What else? well there's peer review, where people enter entries they want to get in the guide, you don't have to be oldie (opposite of newbie) to post there.. where I frequent, but we're seen as bitchy and scary, we're just quality control..
Click on the underlined numbers for a link, and you can click on a user name to get to someones page and out where they are talking and see if you want to join in..
There's the virtual pubs and cafes and bars, just look for the most recent conversation and lurk a bit to see if you like it
The Aroma Cafe - A202924 is a virtual cafe, which is rather good fun. Though it tends to be the younger crowd from the Atelier.
There's also The Forum - the classier version of ask h2g2, where we'd love your opinions A1146917 it may seem mean but it's nice really.. we just debate for fun.. I always try to make sure that there's plenty of interesting debates going. So do feel free to start one and just lie back and observe the mayhem.
The closest we have to a site map is the posts page of links - A660340 obviously not all of the pages are very active at the moment but some of them are.. just click and see, and chat..
Writing-Alternative is the AWW where they, are working on the alturnative guide to the galaxy, the Underguide, which is a place for creative writing, personal opinions travelogs etc, Ben's one of the founding members.
Then there's Terri's Birds Eye thread, F103650?thread=279281&skip=5160&show=20 . If you make a journal entry everyone who has you on their friends list will have it come up in there conversations, so we often have detailed conversations hanging off journal entries - like this one. If you add someone to your friends list you'll get there journal entries in your coversations.
