Thought I would post here, rather than in Peer Review, to discuss more technical details of gameplay!
If you're interested, there are things to do in Alchemy to make gold from your spare socks etc.
The calculator gives you the recipe for 10 gold, but there are also recipes using the other items that yield a few pieces of gold, which could be useful and saves waste.
- My 10 gold recipe is Swamp Water, Sunshine Dust, Fungus, Sunshine Wand, so I eliminated those from my options.
- I then made recipes using the other Dusts and Special Items and found eg 1000 Flowers, Sparkle Dust, Sock and Secret Wish Wand gave me 3 Gold, and there were similar Gold recipes using the remaining two dusts and items.

Thanks Sasha. Kind of you but a former HooTooer gave me those details. In fact she gave me the full list of cheats that meant I could expand my game. She had to, as it doesn't work for a Mac.
I now just play for 'fun' rather than study the plant-food-animal links.
Pleased you are enjoying the game, and if you want me to read it through again, I'm happy to, or if you'd rather I didn't I'm happy to withdraw.
Not sure of your level, but I'm 42, Legend 1, and now taking it slowly...

Glad you do OK for Gold
I don't play too seriously like some players seem to, but I am enjoying ticking off the animals in the Wildlife Guide - I raced through the seeds to get to Level 42 when I first started playing, so now I'm going through them again to attract all the wildlife for each seed.
I made it to Legendary 1 this year (my garden was 3 years old in February) and it is slow progress to the next level, but I'm not rushing for that - there are plenty of things to do attracting and spotting wildlife, and they'll all help with the diamond count eventually!
Please do carry on in Peer Review - I appreciate your perspective 
I only separated out my technical comment about Alchemy as I thought it was a bit off topic for the Peer Review thread
