h5ringer. Greetings and welcome. That is a very kind offer. I am awaiting confirmation of a move date, and hoping it is that. It depends how much work needs doing on it. I will let you know.

The move is on for Saturday 16th. I have three sack trucks, and it entails 10 steps down to ground level, then about 200 yards on the level. I have three bulky items that may be problematic. A double sofa bed with standard bed mattress, a Miele washing machine (heavy) and a fridge-freezer. Hope that doesn't put you off!
The rest will be light-ish furniture and lots of sensible sized boxes. I've moved 'big' boxes. Not a good idea. Food and drink available throughout the day, with a relaxing soirée when it is over. Which is your preferred

Right, we're on then I was going to suggest some sack barrows, so if you've got them already, so much the better. The washing machine can be moved on a sack barrow with some large cardboard sheets or similar as protection. Probably the same for the F-F. With the bed, we may need to be a bit more inventive. Where there's a will...

Thank you very much, h5ringer, for all your help with the move. It is very much appreciated and I can never thank you enough. You and my elephant friends were fantastic. I hope you will be able to make the flat-warming once Mum has moved in and everything is settled.
The Kitchen has been ripped out and the new cabinets are waiting to be assembled. Then the turn of the bathroom. Then get quotes on carpets.
I'll be pleased when it is all done!
