Hi, 09:50, and been at the coal-face for an hour and a half.

Last Bank-holiday till Christmas yesterday, so Summer is going fast, days getting shorter, and cooling down.
Here's to your summer

Oohh Pimms? Lovely... just let me dream up a balcony overlooking the sea to sit & drink it on.......
*sips on while watching yachts go by*

Poor you, slaving away all day. Then again, this is my holiday, and where's the sun got to eh?

Yippee, sun has just come out as I opened your reply.
*Grabs handful and lobs in your general direction*
Catch!!!!!
I have a flat overlooking the Thames..almost.. but no balcony. They are proposing erecting an 11 storey block of flats here, so no sun then. Been knocked back so far, shall whatch this space.
Aahhh, only two hours till .
Enjoy the sun and Pimms
* passes a sprig of mint to freshen it up*

*catches load of passing sunshine*
perfect, I can top up the tan .
The Pimms is going down very well. Thanks for the mint, you're sooo kind.
I hope they don't manage to build those flats in front of you. My flat overlooks nothing in particular - well, there are some houses a few hundred yards away, but I can ignore those . And I face southwest, which means I get sun all afternoon, and then some gorgeous sunsets. I'd hate it if they built anything to block my view.
With a bit of luck, those 2 hours'll fly by, and you'll be drinking your before you know it.

Now there's a thought. *topping up the tan*
Didn't get much on holiday,as in a Pub most of the time.
Well, it was a Folk Festival, and being a fiddle-player, had to go to where the <> was...ie: a Pub.
It can be a hard life being a Folk Musician.
To make matters worse, as I don't have a car, when I go to a gig, I' the only one not driving, so I get all the . Hooray.
Enjoy the sun.

Good planning that, not being able to drive . But living in London, you probably don't need a car to get around in the same way as you do here. Public transport just about vanishes after about 7pm (we're not meant to go anywhere at night) and I can't afford taxis home all the time, so it's driving . The bright side is I don't get that many hangovers.
How long have you been playing fiddle? I love folk music, well, most kinds of music really, but whenever I hear a jig, I want to get up & dance. I was taking guitar lessons for a while, but sort of got sidetracked. Maybe one day I'll try again.
Not long to the now...

For my sins, 37 years. Not as adept as some of the researchers here.
Started at age 7, doing Classical to Grade 5, took grade 6, passed but failed the theory, so couldn't be accepted.
Jacked it in at 14, and started doing folky things, such as Morris dancing, playing in a band, and barn dances.
After Dad ran off with the accordionist, I jacked that in until 18 years ago, then started again. Been with the Band for 16 years.
Hey get back on that Guitar. Could be a duo. See Gnomon's site, as we are arranging a VR ceilidh by the looks of things.

I don't think my neighbours liked that somehow. Maybe I need just a couple of hours more practice? I hope you lot are tolerant, you'll need to be, even in VR!
I'm off now to cook tea before I head off to the bright lights.
bye for now
