Ahoy! I just thought you'd be interested in this book on Florida and history. It looks fascinating.

I doubt that Florida is any worse than any other state in regards to lying about history. What is with Arizona and transgendered restrooms?

Thanks Electra;
It sounds like he has some interesting ideas, and an agenda.
The idea that Ponce de Leon wasn't the first Spaniard to visit Florida isn't new. The speculation is that slave catchers had been coming here for years capturing the Native Americans and selling them to the islands where the Caribs were dying off quickly. The support of the theory is the hostility he encountered as soon as he landed.
I have considered a few entries on the early explorers.
A couple quick notes, he mentions the Governor committing suicide, but does he mention Tallahassee was the only state Capital that didn't surrender until the official end of the war?
The City of Tampa dissolved its charter to avoid reconstruction.
I probably won't rush out to get a copy, but thanks
Most of the 'Floridians' were not born in Florida! (myself included)
