Greek Goddess
Some of my friends argue that "velartia" sounds like a femenine name, and someone has even suggested that it sounds like the name of a Greek Goddess! Well, I'm not female, I'm not Greek and I'm not a Goddess.I'm male, in case you may have been wondering. I'm 19 and I'm currently a student at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), just about to start my second year doing Computing. Yes, I may be a Computing student, but don't ask me any questions about Computers because I probably won't know the answer! I'm only at Uni because I'm too lazy to look for a job!
I live in Adlington, which is a wonderful Lancashire village which is well known for its HUGE annual carnival. In my spare time I like reading (just about anything, but I'm quite fond of books by Terry Pratchett), I also like to write stories - but I haven't finished one yet! I'm also involved in Scouting, and if there's anything I've missed then let me know.
I have a website: ChicaRocka.co.uk - but its not quite finished yet. My Yahoo! ID is velartia so feel free to add me and chat to me. I'm often online, thanks to my handy laptop and the even handier wireless network at Uni - which allows me to surf the 'net during lectures.
Scouting
I am a member of Chorley Local Scout Network, in fact I am the secretary. I am also the secretary for Adlington Scout Group where I am also an Assistant Beaver Scout Leader. I am also a member of CLOGGS - Central Lancashire Organisation of Girl Guides and Scouts, which is the SSAGO based at UCLan.Fencing
I am a foilist, and have been fencing since March 2003. I have entered one local competition so far - and came third (just don't tell anyone that there was only 3 people in my group!). I recently bought my own electric foil. Yey!Music
Its not often for me to go for long periods without listening to music at some point. People often get worried about me when I'm not listening to music. I'm a big fan of Rock and Heavy Metal, and some Goth/Death Metal (yes, I used to be a Goth, but not anymore!). I also like a lot of classical music, and some pop music. I also like some Rap, and Old School Dance and Trance. I stick to my Rock music mainly, but I like anything with a bit of emotion in it, particularly if that emotion is depressing.History
I also have an interest in History and Mythology. Mainly local and/or British history. I like to focus on the Roman period, and the Dark Ages, as there is so much that we don't yet know. One day, I may write more on this section...Latest Messages
