Hello people
I'm a young man in the United States. Intelligent by standard test scores, idiot by the standards of most people around me. What can I say?
I first read THGTTG at a very young age, remember being like 5 and people playing the computer game on a Commodore 64. Like many troubled intelligent children, I became much of an introvert and reading became much of my world. So I read the book, parents owned a copy; and found it very funny. Years later I got ahold of the 3rd Hitchhiker novel, read that. After high school I found the big blue Ultimate Guide! Oh joy upon joys. I've really only met one other person who is as crazy as I am for Hitchhiker stuff.
The Ultimate Guide became my bible. A lot of my life has been spent wrestling with loneliness; depression; and physical, mental, and emotional isolation. So something funny and stimulating was a godsend. It sat by my bed, and after the first couple cover-to-covers I'd just flip open and read; and it was this time I began to get a handle all the really intelligent ideas hidden in the entertainment, some plain and obvious, others mysterious. I'm a little disappointed that I have a grasp of many concepts in the book that people I converse with have no idea about, and I'd like to be able to reference them with a single word. So it's more isolation, but hopefully I can find more like minds on h2g2.
Adams was a genius, in my opinion. I rarely find ideas that I haven't already thought of and I can understand. So the guy, may he rest in peace, is a hero to me and his words are more valuable than gold. Anyway, h2g2 is just a fantastic idea, and I'm going to spend some time poring through entries, get a feel for the lay of the land, and see if I can make a useful contribution of some sort. I will update this info from time to time, especially since at the time of this writing I had no clue as to what I'm supposed to put in here, but I suspect the exact right thing might be whatever I want. Have a nice day!

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
