Hello Jackie. Nice to hear from you again. I realise that you have been through a bad patch and hope that things have improved.
Thanks for you good wishes.
I am keeping this message short as I do not want to bother you with details of my problems, except to say that we were unable to go on the cruise, and still awaiting settlement of the insurance claim.

Best wishes,
Charles.

Hello Jackie.
Yes, we had to cancel our cruise because of my wife's health. We are still awaiting the cheque from the "Travel insurance company”. We have, however, been assured that, apart from the first £100, our claim will be met in full.
My wife is still not well but is able to get about. She is still under medical care and will shortly have more tests done, to find out the cause of her trouble.
Sorry that I am unable to give you better news at present, but
"c’est la vie". We all have our share of bad times but must look forward to better times ahead.
I hope to be able to give you some good news, soon.
I hope that you and your family are O.K.
Regards,
Charles.

Hello Jackie.
Nice to hear from you again.
My wife had an internal examination yesterday and we will have to await the result of the biopsy. She is not too bad, except for still having the runs. I hope that they will now be able to identify and proceed to cure the problem.
We have at last had a full refund from the travel insurance
(almost £6000) but cannot, at present, re-book anything in the present circumstances.
I will let you know the result of the biopsy.
Hope that you and your family are in good health.

Charles.

Pleased to hear you got your full refund returned to you.Truthfully,I cannot see how they could have done anything else, under the circumstances ! Though,I suppose, anything is possible today with these companies Charles.Everything is OK here, for the moment ( I will not be holding my breath of course ) Hope to hear from you with some good news very soon Charles.Thankyou for keeping intouch, always good to hear from you.Love Pinky X

Hello Jacky.
I have some good news and some not so good news.
First the good news, They have found nothing sinister from the biopsy.

There is still a lot of inflammation of the bowel and this may be the result of the recent GastroEnteritis. The doctor has changed some of the medication and increased the steroids for the next 2 weeks. My wife has to see the Specialist in 2 or 3 weeks time. It appears that the Doctor is getting advice from the Specialist, and they are working together.
It is a good job that we are completely covered for Doctor and Specialist care, also for prescription charges.
I hope that you and your family are O.K.
Always nice to hear from you.
Charles.

Hello Charles, thankyou so much for keeping me informed.Sounds good news to me,though I confess I am no expert on these matters, finding nothing sinister has to be good though. It's also good knowing the doctors are working together and not keeping each other in the dark as you hear of so often these days. Please convey my best wishes to you wife.I do hope she is well very soon.....Everyone is fine here thankyou Charles, for the time being at least.Even the weather has been quite exceptional for the time of year.I survived the mayhem of Mothers Day in my flower shop hahahahaha Just hahahahaha Everything can now get back to normal.Always good to hear from you Charles and my very best wishes come with this msg ,to you and yours Love Pinky X

How did that word "Beer" get here?

Hello Jackie.
Long time since I have let you know what is happening.
I had waited for the specialist report. My wife has "microscopic colitis", she is O.K. at present but it is likely to return at some time in the future. Must keep all fingers, legs, etc, crossed.
Changing the subject. We have elections for the new States Deputies later this month. They all promise to sort everything out, but when they get elected it is a different story.
Talking about elections, the Island of Sark will have elections for the first time, later this year. They have been forced to end their "Feudal" system.
Hope you and yours are O.K.
Regards,
Charles.

I'm not at all sure Czar...I thought we were drunk and I rarely drink alcohol,so it's not my fault OK ?

Hello Czar,so good to hear from you and to know that your wife is well,at least for the moment, and lets pray the confounded germ or whatever it is,never returns Czar.I send her my very best wishes....Hahaha I am not sure whether Sark, having to end their feudal system at long last is a good or bad thing Czar to be honest.Sometimes, the old 'tried and tested'ways are the best.Your system seems to be very much like ours....we are promised the world ,and all it's glory, before the elections..promises of justice,a fairer country to live in for all, freedom for all....after the elections,we find we are in a dictatorship ran country, cleverly disguised as a 'Nanny State'..the governement care about you !!! They care enough to take away our civil liberties they forget to add ...OK,OK, I'm putting the soap box away now hahaha this message could turn into the longest in living history if I don't hahahaha Always good to hear from you Czar, and to know you and yours are well.Speak soon. You take care Love Jackie X

Hello Jacky. The new States of Guernsey members have now been elected. No doubt, they will not prove to be any better than the previous lot.
I went to the hustings but it proved to be a waste of time as they all said, more or less, the same thing. Promises, promises, but they will have, already, forgotten them.
I celebrated my **th. birthday yesterday. Julie came over from England and we went out for a meal in the evening.
Julie is here till 10th. May. She will be here to celebrate our "liberation" anniversary on 9th. May.
We are all keeping well and keeping our fingers crossed.
Best wishes to you and your family.
Charles.

Awww Czar,I missed your birthday ! Your 20th again too ! I am so annoyed, please accept my belated Birthday Wishes to you,and I send extra wishes for health, wealth and happiness, not just for your birthday, but for always x Hope you had a wonderful day x Did you know your a year younger than me ? Yes,I had my 21st birthday, again 31st March. How time flies when we're having fun eh ? hahahaha Pleased to hear all is well with you and yours. Yes,it seems the elections are complete, the new members are all full of enthusiasm to take up there posts of office..then mess everything up even more than it is now,if that's at all possible ? London has a new Lord Mayor, bring back Dick Whittington I say,or even Puss.I'm sure he'd do a better job than the rest put together, and I don't even live anywhere near London .........I think I told you my nextdoor neighbour comes from Alderney. She told me of the most amazing story of her family bible. The book was rescued by a German officer during the occupation of the islands. He managed to get the book to his parents in Germany. They kept it hidden, death penalty for anyone even seen with a bible, let alone an English printed one! To cut a very long story short..the bible was returned to the family by the officer in the 1960's...I was given the huge honour of writing in it,all the latest, births ,marriages and deaths...I felt very privileged. You reminded me I wanted to relay the story to you when I read of the May 9th being liberation day for you.Sorry to go on hahaha And you having Julie there too.Your time together being so precious. My love and best wishes to you all.Love Jackie X

Hello Jackie. Thanks for your message and greetings. I am sorry that I missed your Birthday, please accept very belated wishes, or should it be condolences. We do not want to get too old, but age has some advantages, bus passes, pensions, people giving up their seat on the bus, etc, etc, I suspect that you must have a good number of years to catch up to my age.
I am going on a bit. Bye for now.
Charles.

Hello Charles, thankyou for your wishes, and,I always think, age is just a number anyway..your as old as you feel, and like me dear dad always said..many a good tune played on an old fiddle...I like to think, the amount of money they pay for antiques these days....we must be priceless hahahahha Always good to hear from you Charles, speak soon.Love Jackie X

Hello Jackie,
Long time since I got in touch with you. I have been having trouble with my P.C. on and off and I felt like throwing it out of the window. I have now had it fixed and it seems to be O.K. (fingers crossed ,legs crossed and eyes crossed). Those problems were driving me up the wall.
I had to have a new power unit, and a new hard drive. This was not too expensive.
As we were not able to go on that cruise last year, we have booked to go on a cruise next May, we are upgrading to a stateroom with a balcony. We are spoiling ourselves. We will be away on my ** st birthday. We have also booked to go to Southampton for a week in August this year and may go to London later this year.
Why not spend some money while we can?
Hope that you and your family are O.K.
Best wishes,
Charles.
