h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Well my first stab at "getting somewhere" in the Union is an election for a regional position as a "Health and Safety Rep" for the south west area.

There are two candidates both from my office (which is also where most of the voters are). I am pretty nervous to be honest. This would be A big *BIG* step for me as it means going to regional meetings and well basicvally getting my face seen by TPTB.

I also think the election will be pretty close and I am not sure I am going to win. I ought to ask Demon Drawer for some tips as this is pretty nerve rackinh.

Well just cast my vote. That was fun!!!

Tuesday I think. People can vote upto close of play tomorrow, then the votes will be counted Tuesday morning.

Well into the second day of polling and most people have cast their votes. I hope they were mainly voting for me .

Well I should get the result in a ocuple of hours.

I've only just caught up with this thread and already the tension is getting to me.

I hope that you win ferrettbro but if you dont here are some coping strategies.

Take the vctor out for a celebratory congratulations drinking session, that way it doesnt look like you're just drowning your sorrows. Hoepfully the winning candidate will get so mullered that you can score some easy points with comments about conduct unbecoming of the office. If you make a lagered-up berk of yourself just blame it on letting of some steam due to all the nerves in the build up to the election.
