Yup it's that time of year again. The Children Television Journal reports the rooftop conditions. The ship with presents is lost somewhere halfway (and it'll show up just in time).

That was the swimming pool

Jut seen the flames of our local swimming pool burning to the ground 
And I just paid the contribution for my daughters lessons.

Vakantiespel (holidaygame)

Wow this has been impressive, the kids joined the 'Vakantiespel' for the first time. We, Redfishy and me, brought them daily to the gathering parking place and were nearly jealeous, it is much like our scouting camps we have so much pleasant memories of
It is a massive happening, about 1695 children ranging from 6 to 12 take part in daily activities all covered by a theme stretching over the week.
Startoff on monday was a bit disappointing not just a light drizzle but really pooring down eventually forcing the organisation to halt the event for the day. Imagine nearly 2000 kids to get picked up by their parents unexpectedly just before noon. They managed to keep every body warm and in sight despite the local news already suggesting several children to be chilled 
many parents were a little concerned as they had to visit the three locations before they found their kids. Still excellent work by the organisation, within half an hour some staff members at the entrances had lists with the group numbers present in respective location. (And there aint any location here on Alphen aan den Rijn big enough to hold about 300 people)
The finish was a big parade on the friday night with lantarns in the city center. Still a raw throat from chanting the jells and songs. Quite a happening.
