Oh, I was just lurking about a bit... I stumbled over your name on the "who's online" page, and given that I liked the TV series "Max Headroom" a lot back in the 80s I clicked on your name and here I am.

No shame, I should have logged of ages ago.
Ah, the great episodes, I've only seen some on video, still lokking out for a DVD.
As well as the DVD of 'The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy' they're very slow in publishing down here

Yes, I'd love to see Max Headroom on DVD. It's a shame that they haven't released it yet! When talking of "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy", do you mean the movie, or the series? I haven't seen the movie - I didn't like the previews, so I couldn't convince myself to go to the movies... But I love the old series - I have it on video.

I got the DVD for my birthday, just only one line on the back suggested it was the television series .
Just as I had recorded them during last repeat on the Beep.
Did see the movie and the big cardboard Marvins
Can be I've seen your name there before when we started up the Dutch Department.

I'd love to have the series on DVD. As mentioned above, I have it on video, but unfortunately it's the dubbed version. I'd rather see it with the original soundtrack, but the DVD is quite expensive so I haven't bought it yet... So, you liked the movie?
I also spent some time in the French and the Latin Department. I remember that Kat tried to convince me to join the Dutch Departement as well, but I never found the time to do so... It's a pity that there aren't more people on hootoo who are interested in learning languages. The German Department has calmed down again, and since I've left as HoD there hasn't been done any teaching anymore... Not that anyone has ever taken interest in me holding lessons anyway.

Same with the dutch, we had some active Researchers at the start but after a while it calmed down pretty much. The most conversation has been between the teachers anyway.
The Film was fabulous, start viewing with the idea it is something completely different. You should expect that as also the radio series, the book and the television series are totally different.
Have a look at my Journal, I linked to a dutch translation radio play (different again ).

You may be right about the movie, but I still have the feeling that watching it would spoil my own idea about the characters etc.
Where's the link to the radio play? Couldn't find anything in your journal.

Hmmmmm... It's 22:38 here, so it's 21:38 in GB, right? The link should work right now, but it kind of doesn't.

That's a great site! I mean both sites are great! Of course the Dutch site is not of much use for me given that I don't speak Dutch... I only understand bits and pieces - it's pretty close to German...
I didn't know the English site, this is great! I have never heard the radio series so far - it never came to my mind that it could be online for free.
A friend of mine studied Dutch - I'll send her the link. I'm sure she'll like it!
Great links! Thanks!
