Do you not have Bank Holidays then? We have them every few months or so...actually I think there might be three in the year. This is where a Monday is a holiday for everyone...of course a lot of shops are open and all but the bank isn't and most people are off work. We recently had one when it was the last weekend of August.

I'm not sure about the bank holidays!
I know labor day is a holiday that no one really cares about, it's just a day to sit around, kinda like an extra saturday in a way!

Yeah bank holiday is just like a three day weekend, but people tend to use the extra time to go and see people or go to parks etc.

Anything odd you want to know about? I'm going back to school tomorrow so I'll be able to start doing your parcel FINALLY!

Chuckle...the CLOCK isn't called Big Ben! The bell that strikes the time is called Big Ben! However it is all in the same thing and you do set your watch "by Big Ben".
I don't really know what to tell you about England! I mean I've always lived here so it's like trying to get someone to tell you all about sleeping!

It's small, there's lots of green. In fact it's very small! Everything is on a much smaller scale than America. Even our burgers!
There's a lot of old buildings and stuff around. Probably the best castle in the country to see is Warwick castle. It's quite near me and very well preserved. You can see the dungeons and jousting and falconry and all sorts there. It's a favourite spot for tourists and BANK HOLIDAY people!
Everything is more expensive. It also has more changable weather.
We have the queen, whom we don't see all that much of to be honest and she has practically no power whatsoever but just looks good for us.
We have lots of history which people can see in the Tower Of London, all our kings and queens etc, and all our ships, castles, mansions and other great things that are actually fun!
Erm...running out of ideas. We don't celebrate any of the holidays like Hanuka and Thanksgiving because they aren't as important in England...obviously Jewish people do Hannuka but you get the idea.
Um...we don't have marching band, although we do have band camp, I think it's different though because we don't have band at games etc.
We work on GMT time, which is Greenwich Mean Time. That works on the whole longitude line of 0 going straight down through Greenwich which is in London.

I would probably get myself arrested trying to get those dudes with the hats to laugh!

You are OBSESSED with the palace guards!! They aren't all that exciting you know! I mean tey do have a job to do! You wouldn't go up to a bank clerk and try and get them to smile would you?
I doubt you would get arrested though unless you did something really outrageous. They would just firmly tell you to move on or something I suppose. I take it you know what they look like? Or is it just this thing you've got in your head? I can see if I can get into london and take a picture of one for you if you like.
I'm back at boarding school and not very happy about it to be honest. It's nasty and noisy with lots of chinese girls yelling and playing music amazingly loud.

well I've broken my ankles 3 times,once on my right foot and twice on my left foot, and a few years ago the doctors found out that I have 207 bones(an extra bone in my foot), not 206!!!
The unique thing about me is that I can get my feet together and turn them all the way around, it's so gross, but I like to watch stacy scwirm when I do it.

I have survived the first week of school! I have to say that it was hell though. I also fell over a chair today and cut my lip.
I also wasn't allowed to be an ace because I accidently missed out the new people links! It was only because I'm used to being the SECOND person to get to a newbie and so they already have all those links

I don't agree with the politics. They seem to be very...well...chuck everyone out if they aren't american, go to war because our country is the best, and hate blacks, gays, and anything else that seems a bit odd.

I want to know about the car bursting into flames as well. As for the politics, it's not hate blacks, gays, and Catholics. Racial discrimination exists no matter where you go and it is EXTREMELY blown out of proportion. The media loves to play up how unjust whites are to blacks for some reason. As for gay rights, I personally don't champion it, but many people do. I think it's all depending on where you are and how you present it. Nagging and 'woe is me' really tends to piss people off. That's just my humble opinion. Hate to interupt...again.

Yes, the southern states are notorious for it, but where do you get the information? The media. Look at our government, then again, look at any government, the senators and representatives are SUPPOSED to represent the people, but do they? No. Our government runs by money and influence.
