Corporate logic.

I've recently sold my soul to the devil. That's right. I work for Weyerhaeuser. A pulp and paper mill. The place I've always loathed. I needed a summer job and they pay very well. Anyway, I will soon be laid off for "market related" reasons. I managed to trap the mill manager in a corner and I asked what these "market related" reasons were. He told me that the company cannot compete with Japan. He explained that after an area is deforested here in Canada it takes 75 to 100 years to replace the forest. In Japan, it only takes 7 years. 7 years?! Give me break! Why does it take 75 to 100 years to grow a quality tree that can be torn down and mangled into a sheet of paper in Canada when the Japanese can apparently do it in 7 years? My opinion: Capitalism doesn't work. I've heard a rumour that Japan is utilizing a cooperative system in their big business workings. Their economy is picking up while ours is falling out. I brought this up to the mill manager and he laughed at me, "Cooperation doesn't make money!". Yeah, I guess not. Which would explain why Japan is kicking his ass! They pool their resources in Japan and evryone can make quality products at low cost. Could this be why Japanese cars are taking over the car industry while american-made cars still suck ass? Why don't these corporate whores open their eyes?
I want to here your opinion whether it is logical or insane. Personnaly I think the answer to this question, and every question, is 42.

PS- This page will change from time to time. Different things bother me at different times.
