Vikings were quit farmers were they?

I used to be a Viking, but then settled down, fighting saxons was fun though and the banquets afterwards were brilliant!

Well I wouldn't so much call them banquettes, it was usually more along the lines of Keep fighting, add in some eating and bone throwing till you are knocked out or drop from exhaustion.

It’s as exhausting as great sex and as fun as breaking a leg, if you’re not on the winning team.

Our banquets were the highlight! I sometimes thought they seemed more important than the fighting.

Well, i enjoyed the drinking quite a lot. But nothing could beat making out with the nurses, once I was out of the coma. smiley - hug

I used to fight with the Dark Ages Society, heard of them? Grown ups playing Vikings and Saxons then getting very drunk and getting off with other. It sure worked for me!

We even tried to bring some history and stuff from the sagas to make it seem that we were being serious! Trouble is then everybody did get serious and the biggest, smelliest saxon then got all up-tight about authentic footwear. As if, I mean I was really wearing authentic glasses!! smiley - laugh

What bike have you got, I am learning very slowly on a Yamaha SR125. The other half had a Yamaha 850 Diversion till a car decided not to notice it, still she has admitted liability, so the insurance should pay for repairs or a new one, or even both if we're lucky.

You never answered the mead question, the most authentic viking drinky! Bloody nice too!

I started out with a Suzuki 125cc 2-stroke back in the Dark Ages. I moved on to a Honda XL 350. Then I imported an old 1983 XT 550 that had lived in exile for years in an Italian shed.

I came back from a 4 month sleep over in Australia just before Christmas. And when the whether brightened, I could see the old XT 550 looking like it had been attacked by red-ants.

So I simply went out and bought a brand new XT 600 E. My first new MC in 15 years. It has rum more than 5000km since then.

I did not answer your question, because I did not understand it. We call the drink mjød or mjoed. It is very nice, but they make it too sweet these days.

The SR 125 sounds like a good learner, and low enough if you have short legs.

Good luck with the insurance by the way. smiley - ok

I am a danish Viking currently living in Denmark.

We ruled the seas, Norway, Sweeden and parts of most contries round the Baltic apart from parts of England.

We have settled down a bit since then.

My husbands family has relatives in Denmark, I would love to visit! They said that the Vikings are living history for you there, as opposed to ridicolous lies told at school. I used to know some people in Hearths and following the 'Troth', I forget the words. All very interesting. I love to hear more about your way of life in Denmark, aside from the pillaging and raping that is!
