Yes, I'm in the midst of doing the move-out cleaning. Yes, I can be on here--gotta eat sometime
Nevermind about the computer--nothing I do will get the cd drive door to open Yes, I did the straighten-paperclip-and-stick-it-in-little-hole thing.
Well, I need to get back to work. Hopefully I'll hear from you soon

The letters on your badges glow in IE--I've only used Firefox to visit before...
(Just wandering around 'cause I've no idea when I can stop by again, and I'm all done with backlog.)

Don't really need a computer, anyway. I have a laptop, which I used to dictate too. Now, I mostly just go to the library.
Yael is busy, today. Don't think I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel coming to talk to you; I really do wish I could spend more time online, but I'd probably still end up just talking to her.
Way it goes.
So how is everything?

Been just a bit busy--moved the last of the stuff from Sacramento on the 1st, and the new place needs work. Tom'll be comped for the hours he works getting it in shape, so that's good, but it means that I can't help much with it, since my time doesn't count. So yesterday I spent most the day transferring numbers from his old cell phone to the new one (old service isn't offered here, so...) We're sleeping in a spare RV at Tom's parent's place, which is working out OK because when I put Faith to bed I just stay out. THere's some inlaw issues, y'see... Plus I was dumb enough to decide to make their presents from me this year (yes, amongst packing and moving and all) and it's rather difficult to hide knitting from someone when you're in the same room. Not getting much knitting done when Faith fights sleep, either--the generater gets shut off pretty early some nights, and the interior lights in the RV eat up the battery pretty fast. Right now I'm in Pem-Mey (which evidently means fuel) which is the gas station/convenience store/Subway sandwich shop/coffee place caddy-corner from the entrance of our mobile home park I should get going, though--my hot ran out about an hour ago

Just wandering around, in a small quandary, and thought I'd stop by.
So Lady P's visiting in August?

A small quandry?
Like, where rocks come from?
Oh, wait. Quarrey.
Nevermind.
Quandry, eh? Just from having moved, and everything that goes with it, or something else?
Not that you have to talk about it, or that I'll have any answers, but sometimes talking helps.
I'm a good listener, usually.
Anyway, yeah. August 26, she gets here. 50 days away.
It's gonna be great. I miss her so bad, sometimes. Even when we talk, and we talk a lot.
Even when we were together, but just in a different room, I'd miss her.
So yeah, very excited.
Got an apartment in Bremerton, and have been in a constant state of getting ready.
See ya round. Hope things clear up for you.

I think I've resolved the quandary--mostly it came from being mostly incommunicado for so long. I just learned that a friend (well, more a close acquaintence) passed away nearly 3 months ago, and I couldn't decide whether to try to get ahold of his wife (who I barely know) and explain that I hadn't been able to do much more than email for ages--on the one hand, I don't want her to think I don't care, but on the other, it's new pain for her... And of course once I put it into words in my head, I knew I had to try to get ahold of her. So resolved
Caught up with backlog here, and working my way through friends' ljs (which is how I learned of the death--and another quandary is that I've not spoken with that person in ages, because of various circumstances that neither of us could help)
I had a point, but got sucked into Faith's Dr. Seuss dvd we got in the library today
Anyway, talk to you later!

Geez. That's always hard, trying to think of the right thing to say. Sometimes saying nothing is the only right thing.
Hope it all went okay.
Got your LJ post, and I agree off and on with most of it.
As for that group of people, it just seems like everytime someone posts there, it's always griping about something the Beeb is doing (which is the stated purpose of that group, fine) but everyone will complain about it, and then after a day or two, most of the people will realize it's not so bad, or come around, or change their minds, or realize they got too mad.
It just seems like most of the people there are trying too hard to find things wrong with this place, and then when they think it over, they seem to remember why they came here, and all the good about it.
I dunno. Again, it's hard, knowing what to say, because I only have my perspective, but as for me, I like it here.
Dr. Seuss! I love those. I sometimes watch them with my brothers and sisters.
Have a good one. Or however many it is until next I see you.

I ended up just emailing/posting something very simple. No responses from anyone yet.
I'm braindead enough today that I don't even remember exactly what I wrote on LJ NOthing like being extremely with a 3-year-old in the house (her birthday's today, yyaaayyy! Made her a claendar so that it's easier to explain how long until the party on Saturday) I can predict lots of tapes and dvds being watched today--in fact, 'There's a Wocket in my Pocket' is playing as we speak! It's amazingly hard to read when 'Fox in Socks' is on... I like the videos ok, excpet that I don't think that they did a very good job voicecasting on most of 'em.
As far as reactions, that's what happens most the time anyway, isn't it? People overreact, then reconsider *shrug*

Eh, no, not really.
It's about three weeks, and some change.
In the morning, it'll be 24 days away.
It takes so long...
But then when we're together, it goes so fast.
I hate it.
Just have to make the most of it, and all that, I guess.
Still, it'll be nice, when we won't have to do it three weeks at a time. That's what we're eventually planning toward.
Key: Complain about this post
